Ah, TV. Where would civilization be without the marvelous invention of TV? Bored I guess, Selina pondered as she sat down in front of her big screen HDTV with DVD player and surround sound hook-ups. She plopped on her huge couch without her usual finesse, and began the timeless ritual of channel surfing. Today was one of her few off days, where she just didn't have the will to do a thing all day except watch TV until it was time to get up and grab another carton of ice cream to eat. She didn't care how she looked, decked out in her finest bathrobe and her hair partially tied back with a scrunchie. Her cats were all in the same mood, hanging bonelessly from every outcropping in the posh apartment. One decided the TV was a good place to nap, so it took all of Selina's resolve to actually get up and scare the cat off it since watching a bad movie with a cat's tail hanging in the middle of the screen was getting on her nerves.

Finally after falling asleep through what looked like an interesting Discovery channel program, she woke back up and stumbled over some cartoons. She would of gone on, she wasn't the Bugs and Daffy type since she didn't like how Sylvester always got beat up by a dumb little bird, but this one was different. It was called Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? The interesting thing about it was that it was about a thief who stole things around the world (nothing spectacular there), but these famous and valuable items were put together to create something Carmen always wanted or always wanted to do. At the same time she would find enjoyment in leaving clues behind to antagonize two detectives that were always on her tail. Her schemes would always fail in the end, or there would be no plot, but she would always get away with something in the end. She was highly educated, crafty, playful, defiantly a feminist, and had this thing about red trench coats.

Suddenly it dawned on her that this Carmen Sandiego thing was nothing new. It began as a series of successful video games testing history and geographic knowledge through different counties and time. It was even a game show for kids on PBS, but why hadn't it caught Selina's attention before? As she pondered this she watched the rest of the program and began to identify with this Carmen more and more. She respected this girl's accomplishments as it gave her one hell of an idea.

Selina immediately lunged for the phone scaring a couple of sleeping cats in the process, "Hey, Zee. I need to talk to Clutterbuck, so warn him that I'm coming over tonight with some ideas. Don't worry Zee, it's completely devious."
