Fiyero had dated a lot of girls. Of course he had-who wouldn't want to date him?
But Elphaba was the first girl he had met that he wanted to change for.
No one else seemed to care if Fiyero was self-absorbed and shallow, or, if they did care, Fiyero didn't care enough to change for them.
Elphaba was different. She made him think, really think, about things. Things like changing, being less shallow. Things like how he would do anything to get Elphaba's approval.
Elphaba made Fiyero different. He was so used to girls just being attracted to him, he admired the challenge of a girl he would have to fight for.
Fiyero had dated a lot of girls.
But none of them were like Elphaba.
