The End of the Road
A Doctor Who Fan Fiction
Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC. I do not own anything, nor do I make any money from it.
Patience stood on a lonely mountain on Eta Harto, one of the most beautiful planets in the galaxy, to await the final activation of the Delta Wave, a wave of energy that would wipe out the Cold in an instant.
The Cold – an unidentified disease that somehow escaped into this universe. A living, breathing bacterial lifeform that the Time Lords deemed too dangerous to stay alive. Just how many worlds have been infected? How many billions of people in the galaxy have been slaughtered by the Cold? And here she was, waiting for her husband, a man called Theta Sigma, to activate the Wave.
What's taking him so long? Patience thought as she collected the final biodata for Eta Harto. She had always loved biology, even when she was a child, but that was nothing compared to what she had to do during the War. She had to collect every sample of biodata from the lesser civilisations, to save them from the Cold, but her husband deemed it too dangerous for her to scout out alone. But she disagreed, she told him that she could handle it herself, but she was wrong. She had seen so many worlds infected with the Cold – Earth included – but that was just a minor incident.
Just a minor incident, she thought. Yeah right. It was a full on disaster, millions now dead, but it didn't matter. Soon it would be all over.
Suddenly, she could feel it coming. A slight tingly feeling coming up her legs, and it was excruciationly painful. She tried to scream, but it would not come out. I'm sorry, she thought. That you can't save me. She took her last look at Eta Harto, and then disintegrated.
The War was finally over.
Author's note: This was my first proper Fan Fic, so be polite please. And enjoy!
