She had come home to her and Stens shared house a bit earlier than she'd intended too - her shopping had taken less time than she'd thought.
What she had not expected to see when she arrived was Sten with a kitten in his arms, a surprising look on the others face, one of tenderness and it was one she was unused to seeing, even if she was his kadan.
Stifling back a laugh, she decided to observe the kossith, hiding just outside the doorway and tilting her head for a better view, her laughter becoming audible when he began to pet the kittens forehead, and she let out a little squeak of embarrassment when Stens head had turned, slowly at first, and settled on her face with a look of unamusement.
Escaping right back out the door was not acceptable, and she knew that, preferring to face the man anyways, although she was quite a bit shorter she still held a presence too her, arms crossing over her chest with an amused smirk on her face as Sten released the cat and stood up, not approaching at first but watching the kitten scamper away with almost a look of embarrassment, or as much as the kossith could get on his normally emotionless features.
She could tell he was embarrassed from his eyes. They, on the other hand, were quite expressive once she figured out how he showed them. That was a struggle, even for her.
"You like cats, huh?"
A soft question, one accompanied by a widening smirk and another glare of unamusement from the kossith, who only let out a disapproving grunt, his own arms resting over his chest as he glowered down at the dwarf, she in turn giving him another playful smirk, one that seemed to always be on her face.
"Speak of this to no one."
His reaction was not unexpected - more like completely expected to her. Another chuckle, this time completely audible and for a different reason than her laughter before hand.
"Do not worry so much, Sten, no one will know but me."
He gave her a look of disbelief.
"…and maybe Alistar."
She skittered out of the house with another peal of laughter, deciding she would let him retrieve the kitten. She knew he would.
