Draco Malfoy went out to the Malfoy Manor garden for some fresh air. There was a social party going on at the Malfoy Manor. After the Second Wizarding War ended more than a year ago, his parents had occasionally held social parties at their Manor where all the rich, elite and respectable pureblood families would be invited. This was their attempt to repair their damaged social status after the Second Wizarding War. Lucius and Narcissa would be ever so delighted when they received invitations back from the "elite" families that they invited. The Malfoy's wealth did wonders to repair their tarnished reputation. Draco never cared for such parties and only sat through them for the sake of his parents.

He took a walk in the garden, being preoccupied with his thoughts. Pansy had left him seven months ago. They had drifted apart after the war, and she chose to go off with Blaise Zabini after realizing that he no longer shared her extremist views of the world. The last straw was when she insulted Potter and Draco subconsciously voiced out that Potter actually did their world a favor. Regardless, she broke his heart when she dumped him after he walked in on her snogging Blaise.

Draco's thoughts were interrupted by a drop of water on his head. He realized that it was beginning to drizzle as several drops began trickling down on him. He was about to go inside when he caught a sight that drew his breath away. A gorgeous girl with long dark brown hair that curled at the bottom was standing by the fountain. She had her hands out as she was staring at longingly at the sky. She seemed to be enjoying the raindrops as they got heavier. She looked at him with a beautiful smile that made him melt. He felt a jolt in his stomach as he gazed into her alluring blue eyes and walked towards her.

"Draco," she said.

"Daphne's sister, Astoria right?" he asked.

"That's right,"

Draco never took much notice of Daphne Greengrass' little sister, Astoria during their school days as she was two years below him and he was in a relationship with Pansy. She looked absolutely stunning and the rain only enhanced her beauty.

"The rain's lovely isn't it?" she asked with a fascination that Draco found admirable.

"Yeah," said Draco who found himself having a new liking for the rain.

They gazed into each other's eyes and smiled at each other. For the first time in quite a few years, Draco was smiling an actual smile instead of one that he put on as a façade. Standing in his garden and caught out in the rain with Astoria Greengrass, Draco Malfoy felt a new beginning that he never thought he'd feel after the war.
