A/N: It's been a long time since I reread this very old story of mine and realized just how many grammatical errors were in it. Strange though, I thought I already fixed this last year. Anyway, still not grammatically perfect… writing is not my forte after all.
"He hated guns"
By: Chibi Viki
All Military personnel were issued at least 2 guns each. Even the Flame Alchemist owned one and wore it as part of his uniform. He rarely used it, he rarely needed it. All of his offensive would come from his gloves with the fire alchemy array. And… he hated guns.
So it came as a surprise, one day, when Hawkeye heard the news from Havoc.
"He's at the shooting range."
At that moment, she almost dropped the paperwork in her arms in total shock. The man who hated guns was at the shooting range.
It took her only a few minutes to reach her destination. After all, it was quite hard to believe. She stopped by the doorway, panting slightly, and looked around before entering. From cubicle to cubicle, she searched for him until she saw the hint of that familiar black hair inside one of them.
"Colonel!"
He was at the cubicle third from the last getting ready to fire some shots. He had the prescribed earphones on and protective eyewear still in his hand. At the sound of Hawkeye's voice, slightly muffled by the sound of gunfire from nearby stalls, he turned to receive her.
"Colonel, what are you---"
He looked at her, unsmiling, and put on the eyewear as he told her to stay back.
Hawkeye instinctively put her hands over her ears as he began to shoot. Bang! Bang! Bang! He fired 6 times and reloaded. Bang! Bang! There was a tense silence as the smoke and echo died down.
"Colonel—"
"Lieutenant…"
There was a serious look on her face, "you're… supposed to hit the target."
All his shots had missed the huge target that was only a few feet away from him. A tinge of crimson shaded his face in shame.
"I know, Lieutenant… I know."
Yes… he hated guns.

(old) A/N:
Ok, that was short… my first short fic. I usually write long stories but this came out of the blue in my mind. Looks like my creativity is on overdrive this week! Hahahaha!
I actually got the idea from the manga… chapter 31. Roy wasn't in uniform. But he just came out after work from the base to 'save' Hawkeye and that's when I saw his gun in its holster strapped around his shoulders the way detectives would usually do. Then I suddenly wonder if he could really use that thing. Hmmm… the last time he used it was on the Scar thing. But then, he didn't really shoot at anybody now, did he?
Nevertheless he looked SUPERCOOL in it! Nyay!
Thanks for Kalika Maxwell for pointing out grammatical error! I really didn't notice it until you mentioned it in the review page.
My friend Touga, another author here at and I had a rather lengthy discussion about it… that's what you get for trying to argue with someone who has seven personalities
I'll try to edit my other story, Special Brew… well… maybe next time n.n;;
