This is about before and when Mal and Sandra break up and get divorced. 619 words.

Mal walked into his and Sandra's apartment. The air was tense, nothing really new, especially after she cheated on him. He walked over to where she was cooking, mainly cutting vegatables.

"How was your day?" Sandra asked, not making eye contact or even turning around to greet her husband.

"Alright, me and Blaise just started this new case." Mal answers, The knife Sandra was holding slips a bit when she hears 'Blaise' she finally turns around to face Mal

"You and Blaise?" She raised an eyebrow "I thought you said you weren't working with her anymore." Sandra raised her voice slightly, annoyed that Mal was still working with her.

" I told you, I can't be put with someone else. Besides, why do you care so much?" He asked, coldly. Sandra slams the knife down on the kitchen counter and steps closer to Mal.

"Um, maybe, I don't like it when you're working with an attractive blonde! For all I know, you could be making out in the back of your car while I'm busy working!"

"I'm sorry Sandra, I thought you said working instead of saying 'banging your co-worker'!" Mal stares down at Sandra.

"Oh my God, Oh my God! How many times, do I need to tell you, that I didn't mean to!" The arguments were normal for them, nothing has been the same since Mal caught Sandra cheating.

"Oh, I didn't realise you could accidentaly sleep with someone!"

"Really? Because thats what happened when we first got together! And at least I tried to hide it! You just go ahead and tell me!"

"How the hell is working with someone cheating on you? Which I should probably do, because its fine for you to do that with me!"

"So you're saying you want to cheat on me? You're such a jerk!"

"Oh, I'm so hurt, let me just text everyone saying that, oh wait a minute! We're no longer in high school, so stop using high schooler insults" Mal yells. Sandra just scowls at him and storms off into their bedroom. Mal opens the front door and goes to the Drunk Tank.

Sandra reached up and pulled down the suitcase off the top of the wardrobe, putting it on the bed. She opens it and pulls out several pieces of paper, stapled together. She places it down on the bed and grabs a pen. She signs were she's meant to and leaves it on the bed for now. Sandra opens the wardrobe doors, hands shaking. She takes all of her clothes out of it and shoves them all in the suitcase. She picks up her cell phone and dials a familiar number

"Hello?"

"Hi, it me. I was wondering if I could stay with you for a while."

"Sure. I'll just set up the guest bedroom for you."

"Thanks." Sandra hangs up and closes the suitcase, and drags it off the bed. Picking up the pieces of paper off the bed. She wheels it out of the bedroom and opens the door, leaving her key behind.

"Goodbye, Mal." She whispers, trying to hold back the tears. She places the papers on the table and her wedding ring on top of it.
