Chapter 1: Running Away
Kagome jumped through the well to meet back up with her friends. She had been at home for 3 weeks! She knew InuYasha would be mad, but she didn't care. Kagome had some important tests at school she needed to take.
Kagome expected InuYasha to be at the well ready to yell at her for being late. When she jumped out, no one was there.
"InuYasha?" Kagome said.
"InuYasha?!" she screamed this time hoping he was around.
When she realized he wasn't there, she grabbed her backpack and headed toward the village. Kagome was thankful of the clear, sunny day. What made the day bad was she saw Kikyo's soul collectors close by. Kagome went to see if she was with InuYasha.
Not far into the woods, she saw InuYasha and Kikyo together. What made it worse was they had mated and his mark was on Kikyo.
Kagome felt a lump in her throat and let out a sob. InuYasha turned to the sound and he saw Kagome.
"What are you looking at?" InuYasha remarked.
"Pay no attention to that copy of me," said Kikyo.
Kagome dropped her backpack and ran. She couldn't see where she was going through the tears. She ran and tripped over a rock by a spring. Kagome was tired and had no idea where she was. She lay there on the bank of the spring and looked up at the sky. Before she knew it, she had dozed off unaware of someone walking up beside her.
