The call beckons her
she steps from stellar home
to him, friend and master,
to face the mortal pain
of flesh and bone

The astral tunnel,
long and bright
to material plane
the shadows of the underdark
the hunter's black domain

In exile, cast away
from restless evil
they wander freely
unbound by any law
save the ebon figurine

Twined scimitars,
sweeping beside
ivory teeth and claws
hot blood, cold stone
all wash away
in the endless flow of time

To light, the blinding sun
to moon and earth and star
away from twisting tunnels
of the ravaged underdark

Green eyes condemn
the wrong is right
no longer of the fallen house,
devoured by its own ambition
and left to drift away on the wind

The sunrise, bittersweet
pain and joy as one
defying ancient laws
lavender and green,
they view the sun

Together, a bond
bound by blood and trust
and conquered dreams
deception has no hold

All is reflected in emerald eyes.
