Just Let Go, It's Over.
Bang. Screaming. Running. Falling. Failing. Flying. Death. Mourning. Haymitch can't take it anymore. He chugs half a bottle of Ripper's white liquor in one gulp. The memories have become too much again. His father dying in the mines the day after his return. Snow. His mother, viciously stabbed in her own bed. They tried to disguise it as a robbery, but he knew the truth. A single white rose was carefully placed in between the pages of her diary. Snow. His girl, electrocuted on the fence in front of his own eyes. Fried. Roasted. Like an animal. Snow. The most vile creature (he's probably not even human) on the face of the planet. The devil. The tributes he was forced to mentor, the kids, dying over and over in the arena, their young lives ripped away from them by a merciless killer. The cold, manipulative, power-hungry snake. President Snow. He knows his family is disappointed in him. Giving in to his grief, giving in to alcohol. But he can't help it. It's too late for him anyway. Just like it was too late to save his family. So he drinks, and drinks, and drinks. There's no hope for him anymore. Things will never change. It's over. Just let go.
