"Ah, thank goodness we can finally have a break!" misty happily cried stretching her arms into the air.
"Alright, but not too long, I want to train for the pokemon league!" ash replied.
"Go, Pikachu!" ash happily yelled.
I wanna be the very best, that no one ever was. To catch them is my real test; to train them is my cause...
"hmm." Misty thought to herself, sitting on the ground
"Ash really has done well with his pokemon-eh, excluding charizard-but he hasn't given up. I'm so proud of him."

I will travel across the land, searching far and wide…
"I'm so glad I decided to come with ash. Its been so much more fun than listening to my sisters all day, and.." with a slight blush she added "I get to see him everyday."
Misty looked up. "Wait a second, why did I think of that?"

"Wow, it's hard to believe that ash was my first real human friend." Misty remembered.
-Flashback-
"Misty, we need you to clean the pokemon's tank for the next show!" lily, one of misty's three vain sisters would complain.
Luckily, she didn't have to do it by herself. She had her pokemon friends.
"Sea, sea, seadra!" misty's little seadra cried.
"Yea, I know, but some day i'm going to be leader of this gym." She replied as she hugged the little pokemon.
"Hello! Is anyone in here? I'm here to challenge the gym leader!" a young boy, maybe 10 with shiny black hair and a pikachu bravely shot out.
A/N: yea, misty was with ash when he went to get a badge, but let's pretend they hadn't met yet, Kay? Great! On with the story!
Misty hid in the shadows as she watched the boy asking for a battle instead of just getting the badge.
"Maybe he'll be my friend and get a battle at the same time." Misty chuckled to herself.
-End flashback-
She smiled warmly at the memory.

True, she had helped ash many times defeat the clumsy, sometimes whimsical group, team rocket.
"But that doesn't mean he likes me." She sighed inwardly.

Thinking back, misty was remembering all the things he had taught her, and what she had taught him.
"I think the most important lesson though," she mused, "is how to love someone."
She smiled and got up.
"How was that, misty?" ash asked with intense eagerness.
"Pretty good, but can you beat me?" she answered.
"You're on!" he laughed.
