Chapter 1 – August 15
August 15, 12.30- Afternoon
The weather was incredibly nice. The park was deserted, except for one black-haired girl. She sat on the swing, all alone.I started talking to her—I had nothing else to do. "Well, y'know, I kind of hate summer" , She boldly murmured while petting a cat. At that moment, the cat she was cradling jumped out of her arms and ran across the busy road in front of us. The black-haired girl stood up and ran after it without a second thought. The traffic light changed to a glaring, fire red.
If I had known what would have happened then, I would have stopped her right then. Unfortunately, I didn't know.
Suddenly, a truck came out of nowhere and struck her as she screamed. The glaring colour red was suddenly splattered everywhere. I don't believe this… "This is all real!" The haze of heat mocked me. with that, like a cricket's sound being disturbed, the light blue of summer darkened away, and I blacked out.
