Set post Season 2 Episode 5: DOA During the scene when Sharon comes home and finds Jack and Rusty playing cards. My first Sharon/Andy pairing :)

"Are you gambling?" Sharon asked. "Very low stakes. Maybe I owe you for a box of toothpicks. What do you have them for anyway? You know in 30 years I've never seen you put a toothpick in your mouth?"

Amy, Flynn and Provenza finished packing up the case about 10 minutes ago and each final left the office to their separate destinations. Flynn was glad to finally get out of the office. As much as he was glad to see his old friend, Jack, in town, he couldn't help but harbor a little resentment towards the husband of the woman he loved. He needed to talk to Sharon to make sure she was okay, since he didn't get a chance during the day. As he got into his car in the LAPD parking lot, the first thing he did was call Sharon.

"Andy," she answered on the second ring. He could hear the relief and fatigue in her voice. He could only imagine how stressful she must be right about now, with Jack in town.

"Hey. We didn't really get a chance to ourselves today. How're you holding up?"

"Oh god! You have no idea! You would think by now I'll be used to Jack just dropping in. Are you still at the office? "

"Yeah. I'm actually in my car right now. I figured you could use the phone call." He chuckled. Sharon sighed.

"You have no idea." There was a brief silence before Andy continued.

"Would you like me to come over tonight? I think I still have at least two clean suits-"

"Oh god no! That is a bad idea! Jack has… Jack is-uh- spending a couple nights here until he could find a place. Tonight was supposed to be the last night but he had nowhere to go so…"

"So you're bunking with your husband instead of me for a few nights, huh?" Sharon knew by Andy's tone that he was messing with her but she hated that Jack always shook up her life whenever he resurfaced. She resented that.

"No, Andy. Jack, is bunking on my couch for two nights. Plus, the deal is that he'll help out with Rusty while he's here-which I'm not completely comfortable with, but Rusty really hates the Police escort- and I actually got him to call his children tonight, so…"

"So?" Andy teased. He could hear Sharon huff on the other end of the line. He loved making her get flustered.

"Andy, did you call to stress me out more? Because if you did, you are doing an excellent job."

"I'm sorry Shar, but I have to admit, you really turn me on when you're angry." He chuckled.

"How about I come by and pick you up. We could spend the night at my place for a change."Sharon completely disagreed with his request.

"There's no way in hell I'm leaving this man in my house unsupervised."

"Sha-ron-"

"No, An-dy. He's already teaching Rusty how to gamble. I think it's best if I stay here until he leaves."

"Come on. It's just for tonight. Let me take your mind off things for a few hours, then, I could drop you back home in time for your morning coffee. What'd ya say?"

"You know I can't say no when you use that voice. Fine, Andy, but I'll meet you at your place so I can drive myself back in the morning."

"Ah. That could buy you some time so you could actually dress here in the morning and have coffee with me. Hmm. I like your plan more. See you in an hour?"

"Okay, Andy. I'll see you soon. And thank you. You always know how to cheer me up."

"Well, Captain, it's what you do when you love someone."

"Hmm," Sharon chuckled. "I love you too, Andy."
