Stone Promises

Chapter 1

I Call Me Stupid

By Doveheart

Blood gushed out my mouth as a punk threw a cinder block at my gut. "I hate that brat." I thought as I ran away, there was no way I could stand up to Sierra and his lackeys. He was out to get me and I couldn't do anything about it. I ran as fast as I could away, you see I hate to hurt people. I hate to hurt anybody, so I hurt nobody, and with that chain reaction I have become a target to everyone who has a bad day. Which seems to happen often in New York City. Asphalt taste bad as Sierra's back up lackeys pulled the rope which sent me spiraling downward. The big one, Stone, held me down as Sierra catches up. That punk and his million dollar clothes. He's a fat kid with long blond hair, you know the type. "Whats wrong?!" He shouted as he began to kick me, "Why don't you fight you mutant?!" More feet pressed into my sides as the others joined him. I did nothing to fight back, I wouldn't, I would never.

"Is this the meaning of being kicked when your down?" I thought. I could tell Sierra had an extra big day cause he held out longer than before with the kicking. All lot of people passed by, but not one of them stopped to help me. Not one kind soul would come up to break up the fight. Not even a "Hey you!" or a "Cut it out!" Nope. They just kept on driving. I know they saw me, I was on the side walk and they where driving compleatly right by me! They probably take a look and turn away, hoping that another person would call the police or break it up. But guess what? That "other person" thinks the exact same thing! So everyone is just passing around a ball of guilt that they try to forget. They go get there mocha's and read the evening news paper, and by the end of the day; I was just another random person. A victim of society.

Darkness incased him as the brat's blindflolded him and picked him up. Shadow had no idea where they where taking him, but it sounded like trains . . . no. He let out a gasp. "The highway." He thought. "Oh man he's going to kill me!" Shaodw wiggled and squirmed, but Stone held a firm grip on him.

"Whats the matter?" Hissed Sierra, "Are you scared to be run over like a dog mutant? If you stay still, it will hurt more." Blood was pulsing through his body at rapid speed. Suddenly, Stone let go and I was air borne! I swear that I can still hear there terrable laughter as they watched me fall.

"Man I'm stupid." I thought, finaly I tasted asphalt. I stood up right away and began to run, right before I got run down. And blacked out.

OH NOSES!!
