The only sound within the office of S.P.R was the rain drops hitting against the glass panes of the windows and the sound of ruffling paper every once and a while. There wasn't a loud obnoxious monk or a petty argument. Just silence, and just how Naru liked it. But of course it was ruined. Ruined by the sound of the door of his personal office being opened. Getting ready to yell at Mai he looked up to see something that he didn't expect. His ever so quite bodyguard, Lin.
"We have a new case. It's a request from your mother."
"Bring it here." He said with an irritated mood. Though it was a Request from his mother so it better be good.
"It also has a letter with it." Naru gave a slight nod and with that Lin left.
Dear Noll,
Your father and I miss you dearly and we would wish you would call once and a while. The only updates we get on you well being is the reports from Lin and my conversations with Madoka. What always catches my attention is when that little assistant of yours is mentioned. Mai I believe her name is. She sound like such a sweet young girl. Maybe my hopes of grandchildren isn't over yet! Now about the case. The client is a very good friend of mine and her name is She had recently bought a new estate and lately she has been having some... problems. Most of the details are in the file. I'm pretty sure this one will defiantly peak your interest. Now be good to that girl and be safe as well.
Love
your mother
Naru made a mental note : burn letter first chance you get.
Mai sat at her desk watching as the rain drops fell from the sky. She was utterly bored. She looked at the clock hoping that she could go home soon. To her dismay she had hours to go. She decided to go make some tea, seeing how Naru would be calling for it any second now.
"Mai, Tea!" And there it was right on que.
"Coming Right up! Teaholic." Mai muttered the last part under her breath. She waited for the kettle to whistle and poured the tea. She knocked on the door and waited to be let in. She soon heard the faint, "come in." Mai sat down the tea on his desk filled with papers. Like always she waited for a thank you even though she knew it would never come.
"You know it's not polite to stare, right? I know I'm gorgeous and all but, seriously."
"Stupid, narcissistic Jerk! I was only waiting for a thank you. But of course that would never happen. It would take a miracle for that to happen."
"If you know that much why do you even wait, or are you just making up excuses?" He saw her face turn a bright pink. Oh, how he loved to see the different shades of red that would appear on Mai's face.
Mai just suck her nose up in the air and started to storm out, but before she could reach the door handle Naru spoke up.
"Mai, call everyone. We have a new case." Mai nodded in response and left the room.
