I got inspired to write this when I was reading Deathly Hallows and Remus said that Tonks' own parents discussed their marriage. Hope you enjoy, and please leave a review.
"Mum, dad can I talk to you?" Tonks walked into the kitchen where her parents were seated eating breakfast. Ted was reading the muggle newspaper, and Andromeda the daily prophet.
"Yes Dora what is it?" Tonks took a big breathe. She had to tell her parents that she and Remus were getting married there was no way around it. Andromeda got up to refill her coffee cup, and Ted lowered his paper to see his daughter.
"I'm getting married to Remus." Andromeda dropped her coffee cup sending shards of ceramic across the floor. She turned to her daughter with a look of fury on her face.
"No Nymphadora you are not marrying him." Tonks looked to her father for answers, but he just remained silent at the moment.
"But why mum?" Andromeda fixed the coffee cup quickly and threw it in the sink.
"He's a werewolf Nymphadora."
"What does that have to do with anything? I do recall a certain girl running off-"
"That was completely different Nymphadora. Your father didn't stand a chance of harming me. My parents thought that he was filth, no better then the dirt that they walked on."
"And that is how you feel about Remus. Who am I talking to Bellatrix or Andromeda?" The words stung as they flowed from Tonks' mouth. Andromeda hated to be put down so much by her daughter.
"Don't you dare compare her to me. We are nothing alike. She is a crazy raving maniac with bad hair, and bad tastes." Ted stared at the two women fighting like crazy. As Nymphadora's hair began to turn red, he stepped in.
"Please stop fighting, Nymphadora is right Andromeda. You are being a little prejudice here." Andromeda's jaw dropped.
"Fine, but when she gets killed by him don't come crying to me Ted." Andromeda ran out of the room pushing past her daughter.
"Thank you Dad." Tonks said quietly as he stood to run after Andromeda.
"Your mother does have reason to be concern she loves you so much Dora, just be careful ok. I trust Remus, but when they transform-"
"I know Dad you go talk to mom, I'll see you later." Tonks walked out the front door and Ted headed to comfort his wife. Ted walked into their bedroom, and Andromeda was sobbing on the bed.
"Dromeda come on get up." She didn't move, and Ted pulled her off the bed. He realized she was clutching something with both hand tight. When she sat up and wiped her eyes he tried to pull it away from her.
"Don't Ted."
"Dromeda come on what is it?"
"Here, but if you harm it I swear I'll kill you." Ted took the thing out of her hands and realized it was a photo frame. The picture inside was of Andromeda and her sisters.
"Dromeda you shouldn't be doing this it's not good for your health."
"But Ted I miss them. As much as Bella is a bitch and Cissy is a trophy wife they will always be my sisters." Ted sighed as she began to sob again; whenever Bellatrix or Narcissa was brought up she remembered what it was like when they were children.
"Honey, we need to talk about Dora."
"I was wrong Ted to tell her no, but then after what she said I realized she was right. I do carry old prejudices." He hugged her, and she melted into his arms.
"I love you Ted." He just kept holding her, and continued to rock her back and forth.
"I love you too Dromeda."
