Every generation or so there comes a person, a witch, with so much magical energy that she can tip the balance of power. The one. She can either be the one to save you, or kill you.
My car groaned in protest.
"Come on Betty I'm begging you, just a little bit further I promise." I coaxed my car along the road. It groaned again as if to answer my plead.
"I know, I know girl come on you got it" Betty crawled up the road and I nearly cried out in joy when I found my destination. The admissions office was a brick building the shade of melted chocolate and graham crackers. The whole building had air conditioning which was a blessing because as much as I loved Betty she was like a sauna. I pulled my hair into a pony and fanned myself with my hand. Living in Forks Washington had definitely not prepared me for this kind of weather. The line was slowly moving and I had a feeling I was going to be here for a while.
The lady sitting by the desk name was Mrs. Cope she was forty something and had bright red hair. She motioned for me to sit in the cushioned chair.
"What year are you?" she asked
"Freshman" she smile
"You scared?"
"Terrified" I admitted
"It gets better I promise, I always loved the dorms." She got up and walked to a cabinet
"Have you contacted your roommate?" I shook my head
"Oh well I'm sure everything will be fine" I smiled although at that moment I really didn't feel like smiling. Her words didn't really fill me with the confidence I needed. She put the folder on the desk and turned on her computer again.
"First and last name please"
"Isabella Swan"
"Ah there you are Midnight hall room 245." I nodded indicating that the information was right
"And your roommate a Miss Lauren Mallory" I nodded again
"And you have your schedule, map of the campus, ID card?"
"I need an ID"
"Okay you'll get that from Mrs. White" she pointed to a spot on the map.
"All you need to do is give her your information and shell go from there" Easy I thought, maybe this college thing isn't that hard after all.
