I don't own Doctor Who. This is set shortly after the God Complex. Bit of Eleven moping. Quote taken from The Satan Pit.

Beliefs

It was a simple question that Amy had asked him. A simple question for which he had no answer, at least, no answer he wanted to give her. What, or who, did he believe in?

He had dropped off the Williamses at their new house after destroying Amy's faith in him, now left to his own devices. Mostly he thought of how that one little question had affected him.

He believed that there was good in the universe. He believed that good should beat evil. He believed that bananas are good. He believed that the TARDIS was indeed 'sexy'. He believed in a lot of things.

His strongest beliefs rest with his companions.

One companion in particular. Her. Everything always led back to her.

"Well, I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods. I've had the whole pantheon. But if I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in her!"

There, standing in the doorway of what used to be her room, he mourned. He was a danger to those around him, his friends more hardened to the world than before he had met them. He'd be better off alone.

Even though the TARDIS had deleted rooms after House's little invasion, he had decided to recreate the room once more. Her room had stayed the same as the day she left. He snorted. 'Left' made it sound like she went willingly.

A stray jacket was hanging over a chair, pair of socks on the carpet, blouse halfway out of a drawer. It was as if she had just gone out to visit Jackie or bring back some chips.

Her scent still lingered, stale in the air. A photograph sat on the dresser, and there she was, all pink and yellow.

He couldn't do that anymore, going into her room. It made him feel ill, guilty, and depressed. The Doctor always told himself he'd never go back in there. It never lasted long. He stepped back and closed the door, clicking it shut. She'd be a distant memory, in a distant universe.

Rose Tyler would be traveling the universe and defending the earth with her Doctor. Rose and the Doctor in the TARDIS, as it always should be.

When Amy asked the Doctor about what he believes in, my first thought was 'Rose Tyler'. So here it is. Please review.
