I THE INVITE
From across the street, Harry could hear the clanging of the station clock's bells. He leaned hardly on his chair and sighed. Flashes of Dumbledore's death stirred in his mind. He remembered the obscene stench of blood which constantly dripped from the yellowish fangs of Fenris Greyback, and the stocky giggles of Amycus and his dumpy sister Alecto, as they watched him die. He remembered the look of sheer terror plastered on Malfoy's face when snape…killed…Dumbledore.
"Severus…"
"Severus..please"
Harry shut his eyes tightly. Dumbledore's words kept echoing in his head. He clenched his fists tightly until it hurt and dropped it on his desk. It landed with a hearty thud.
"AVAD KEDAVRA!!!"
He heard Snape's thin merciless voice scream. A flash of green light…Dumbledore lay motionless…..dead.
A great feeling of despair and anger surged through his veins. He stood up and entered the small bathroom in his room. He splashed cold water on his face. He clutched the sink with both his hands and breathed hard. Hot tears trickled down his face. Harry wiped his face with a towel and pulled his shirt of. He walked lazily back to his bed and climbed in. just as he was about to doze of, he heard a tapping in the window.
Tap..tap.. he heard it grow louder as he reached up for his glasses that sat quietly on his desk. Harry looked up and a brown-spotted owl just a few inches smaller than Hedwig fluttering noisily outside. He stood up and walked to the window. The cold floor stung the soles of his feet. A cool breeze greeted him when he opened the window. The small bird extended its leg revealing a small sealed envelope. Harry untied it and sat back down on his bed. He switched on the lamp immediately recognized the neat cursive writing….
"Hermione!!" Harry said
Once the bird heard Hermione's name, it fluttered inside his room flapping its wings wildly and bumping into all sorts of objects around Harry's room. Hedwig started squawk b at the bird who was still flying around
"sssshhh" Harry said
"HARRY POTTER!!!!!" uncle Vernon bellowed
"IF I CATCH YOU LETTING THAT BLOODY BIRD OF YOURS OUT OF ITS CAGE….."
Harry ignored the threat and turned back to the letter.

Dear Harry,
How are you? I've gotten very worried about you since you haven't been writing. Heaven knows what the Dursleys have been doing to you!
Anyway, Ronald and his family are still in Egypt visiting Bill and isn't getting back until next next week I was thinking, that maybe you could come over my house next week and stay here in Brighton for a couple of days, about a week or so, and then we could both go to the Burrows together.
You need not worry about the bus fare, I'd gladly pay for it & we've already prepared new sheets for you in the guest room where you'd be staying. My parents already said that it would be a brilliant idea & would love to have you.
I hope I can see you soon. I miss you and Ron terribly.
Yours,
Hermione
