"You have new orders, Nine."

Demyx looked up from his sitar, "Already? I didn't think he'd send me so soon after my failure in the Underworld." The younger Nobody bit his lip at the thought of him having to go back to the Underworld, the place was more depressing than the castle was!

"He thinks you're ready to fight the Keyblade master again. You are to stop him in Hollow Bastion this time, try not to fail this time kid."

"When do I leave?"

"In the morning."

"The morning?! But I'm not ready to fight him again, Xigbar!" The sitar in the blond's lap dissolved into bubbles as Demyx stood up. "I can't do it, I can't fight Roxas!"

"It's his orders Demyx, you can't just ignore them." Two said sternly.

The younger Nobody looked away. "I'm not strong enough to fight him, what if he's more powerful than before?"

"Don't." Xigbar started, he felt long forgotten tears starting to form in his eyes. He took a deep breath before continuing, "Don't talk like that, Demyx. You can do it, don't tell yourself that you can't. You will win. I have faith in you."

Nine laughed, "Faith? You know that means nothing to us-" Suddenly the gunman's lips were against his. Xigbar pulled him close; Demyx could feel the desperation in the other's kiss and returned it with an equal ardor.

"Stop it." Xigbar gently pushed away Nine as the tears he had been hiding finally fell. "I can't stand to hear you talk like that. You have to come back. Even if it's a lie, tell me you'll return to me."

A gloved hand cupped the gunman's cheek, "Please don't cry Xigbar. I'll come back to you. I promise."

Xigbar nodded pulling his lover close again. He smiled even though he couldn't escape the feeling that this would be the last time he'd ever get to hold Nine again.

In the morning Demyx reluctantly left Two's arms, kissing him gently, not wanting to wake the other. He quickly dressed and left for his mission. He was going to bring Roxas back, he wasn't going to fail.

He'd return to Xigbar, he vowed as he appeared before Sora.

It was late afternoon when at last Xigbar stirred. He groped about for the sitarist's body, sitting up with a start when he realized there was no one there. The ghost of his heart sank. In the back of his mind he could hear Nine's voice and the words he would have said. I'm sorry, Xigbar, I couldn't keep my promise.
