A gentle word like a spark of light,
Illuminates my soul
And as each sound goes deeper,
It's YOU that makes me whole
He was standing on the court, trying his utmost to concentrate on the game at hand. It was the playoffs for heaven sake, but all he could think about was the night before. How had he been so stupid? O.K., he couldn't quite believe what he was hearing but that was no excuse for his action. He should have told her there and then. He should have scooped her up in his arms, laid her across the bed and SHOWED her how he felt, if he couldn't think of the words. Why was he so stupid?
He came back to reality with a bang. He saw it coming right for him but it was too late. It hit him smack dab in the nose and he went tumbling to the floor. He lay there in agony for a few minutes, not wanting to budge. At that moment in time he just wanted to drown in his own self-pity.
There is no corner, no dark place,
YOUR LOVE cannot fill
And if the world starts causing waves,
It's your devotion that makes them still
The game had stopped, all looking at him in confusion; he had been on the floor now for five minutes. A group had gathered around him, wondering if he was ok. They started to think he had concussion, as he was so dazed. They were calling his name but no voices seemed to register with him. They all just seemed like a jumbled up noise, intruding on his thought. That was until; he heard a voice stand out from the crown. It was her. He could hear the worry in her voice. He stood up and walked towards her.
And yes you always speak to me,
In sweet honesty and truth
Your caring heart keeps out the rain,
YOUR LOVE, the ultimate roof
Suddenly all the pain he'd been feeling just washed away as he gazed into her eyes. What was it about that smile that somehow made even the worst days seem bearable? How had he not seen it before? If he was being honest, he did but he just didn't have the courage to go there. Being with half of Peyton, as friends, was better than the risk of having no Peyton, or was it? She was always there for him and he loved being that guy for her.
So thank you my Love for being there,
For supporting me, my life
I'll do the same for you, you know,
My Beautiful, Darling. PEYTON
He stood in front of her for a few seconds before he took her in his arms, and kissed her. It was the most passionate, fulfilling kiss he'd ever experience. How had they wasted so much time? Well one thing for sure, they weren't going wasting anymore!!!
