"Artie?"

There he goes again.

"Artie."

I shiver. The way he dragged out my name in that oh-so innocent voice... It scared me. It honestly did.

"Come on, now, darling. Why must you be so afraid of dear little me?" He asks me, but I could not find it within myself to answer. My throat was dry, sore from all that screaming from earlier. It was only more of a disadvantage. He absolutely hated it when I didn't give him the answer he was looking for.

Just as expected, he hit me, struck me with his knife again. Blood began pouring out of my reopened stab wound, but that's alright. He loves me. And that is what matters the most.

"Artie, do you not remember my rule?" He asks with a frown. It was never good when he does that. "I want you to answer my every question. You don't want punishment again, do you?"

I didn't answer. I didn't say a word. I just couldn't.

My counterpart began to feel bored, it seemed. He absolutely disliked it when I don't make the noises he loved. I wanted to satisfy him, give him all the screaming and pained cries he loved so much. I was too tired... Too exhausted to carry out what he so desired... what he deserved.

His cold hands found their way towards my pale cheeks. His blue eyes stared into my own sympathetically.

I began to feel safe.

"Oh, Arthur." He pressed me against his chest, stroking my hair like a mother would to comfort her child. "You know I don't like giving you these punishments. All Ollie asks is for you to do as he says." He tells me softly. "Is that so hard?"

I quivered in his hold, yet I found myself slowly wrapping my arms around him. I truly loved the feeling of his warmth. "...No. No, it's not..." My voice was hoarse, tired, and it sounded as if I was in pain. Oliver smiled again, and just knowing I managed to be the cause of that made me happy.

"Good... That's good." Oliver murmured softly and rocked me side to side. "Now, let's do this again. What did I tell you? What rule did you break?"

"Avoid... nations. I tried to... Tried to talk to them, and..."

Oliver hummed softly to himself. He was probably expecting more.

"I'm sorry."

He let out a soft giggle and lifted my chin. Oliver kissed my lips gently. He always does that to comfort me after he punishes me.

"I forgive you, love," Oliver whispered. I closed my eyes and rested my head against his shoulder. "Just remember... I'm the only one who truly loves you, Arthur. I'm the only one who will never leave you, I will always come back to you. Everyone else... they just want to hurt you for the sake of doing so." Oliver tightened his hold around me, and naturally, I leaned in for more. "I am the only one you can trust."

"Just follow my rules." Oliver said to me in a sweet voice. "Keep this in mind, dear. I'm hurting you because I love you."

I caressed his face and said in a weak voice; "If inflicting pain is the way you show your love, then hurt me as much as you wish."
