Summary: Gibbs gets injured in the line of duty and Hollis helps him recover and in the process they learn about each other's past…
Note: I absolutely love these two together and this idea was one that I have been thinking of for a while…

Chapter One
Boom! The building went up in flames and exploded! Lt. Colonel Hollis Mann and Special Agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David watched in shock. Oh no they thought…Gibbs and McGee. DiNozzo ran toward the building. "Tony" Ziva yelled following close behind when she saw that it was okay, "Gibbs Jethro Gibbs" Hollis called out as she searched the wreckage for him. "We're over here" she heard McGee say and followed his voice. When she found them she saw Gibbs lying on the ground with McGee kneeling over him. Oh God please don't let him be dead she thought. "What happened McGee?' she asked trying to stay calm. "He got hit pretty badly. He was right near the bomb when it went off" McGee replied likewise trying to be calm. "Jethro stay with me" she said trying not to let the desperation she was feeling show in her voice. DiNozzo and Ziva found them just as Gibbs was being moved on to the stretcher. Hollis was so focused on Gibbs that the others seemed not to be there. DiNozzo noticed the blood flowing down McGee's arm and the bad cut on his head. Tony applied pressure to the cut on McGee's arm. "Can you move Probie…we've gotta get you to the hospital" he said gently. "I think so" he answered. Tony helped McGee up and he sank back. Ziva came over on his other side and they helped him up.
In the ambulance Hollis was holding Gibbs hand while the paramedics were working on him. "Jethro stay with me" she whispered to him. "I won't let you die on me." When they got to the hospital she watched as they wheeled him into the trauma/emergency room. Hollis was standing by the window in the waiting room deep in her thoughts and emotions. She vaguely heard someone say her name. She turned around and saw Ducky, "Ducky" she said, "What happened?" he asked. "Gibbs and McGee went into the warehouse to interview (insert name later) and then he blew the place up…my people are working the scene and so is Ziva. "What about Timothy…is he okay?" Ducky asked. "He's got a pretty deep cut on his arm and a bad one on his head…possibly a broken hand too…and he's pretty shaken up" she said. "I'm more worried about Jethro" she added more to herself than Ducky though he heard and said "yes I know dear." Just then DiNozzo walked in. "Any word on the boss" he asked. "Not yet" she answered. "McGee's going to be okay" DiNozzo said "I'm gonna go help Ziva…let us know when things change." "We will" Ducky said.
