Chapter 1 The Bloody Egg and A Peach?

Dr. Stephen Strange searched through the Sanctum's enormous collection of ancient texts and books with hopes of finding something interesting on the Great Himalayan Yetis that still lived in the closed off areas of the sacred Mount Kanchenjunga. As he passed the section containing books on Asgardian spells and incantations his eyes chanced upon a strange round object that was placed on one of the top shelves of the library. The strange object was kept inside a small box made out of glass and Stephen could almost feel himself being pulled towards the object's gravity. Carefully, he let his curious hands pick up the box from its original place and took out the object from the box.

Bright green eyes carefully inspected the relic that had managed to pique the Sorcerer Supremes interest. The relic was shaped like an egg and was probably a thousand years old and was most probably hollow from the inside judging by the fact that it was almost as light as a feather despite the fact that it was made out of pure solid gold. Overall the relic had been preserved perfectly over the years and looked too perfect to be real. Stephen examined the intricate elemental designs that that been carved onto the relic's exterior with his bare hands. It just seemed so odd to him that such a beautiful and unnaturally perfect relic was kept hidden in the Sanctum's library instead of being put out on full display on one of the glass showcases in the inner sanctum. But, as the old saying goes- 'Curiosity killed the cat' as Stephen was running his fingers through the top portion of the relic his index finger made a small but deep chip on the surface of the relic cutting his finger in the process and a small drop of his blood managed to sweep inside the hollow of the relic from the small chip.

Stephen jerked back by reflex due to the pain and he dropped the relic on the hard wooden floor of the library. He quickly healed the cut with a simple healing spell before picking up the relic using a levitation spell and placed it back inside the glass box. His brain told him to place the relic back in its original place i.e., the top shelf but his heart and inner-conscience told him to take the box with him. So Stephen did just the thing that he felt was right at the moment… he kept back the object with him and decided to keep it on his workstation.

"This should do it" Stephen said, visibly pleased with himself as he placed the relic on his desk and headed towards the meditation room for his evening meditation session.

Unbeknownst to the Master of the Mystic Arts just as he left the relic jiggled almost gleefully by itself before pausing and giving out a faint golden glow.

Many eventful things were going to take place from that moment onwards.

Later that night, Stephen had this small nagging feeling in the back of his head that he was missing out on something very important.

"Something wrong Strange?" Wong asked as the middle-aged librarian chowed down on his share of grilled salmon.

"Its nothing" Stephen replied waving the matter off.

"…If you say so…" Wong said before turning his attention back on the savory piece of meat.

CRASH! BANG!

A loud crashing noise was heard from Stephen's private office followed by a loud banging.

"What's that?" Wong asked sounding alarmed as he stood up from his place.

Stephen signaled Wong to keep quiet and motioned the latter to follow him. The cloak of levitation swirled around its master immediately. Loud noises of something banging against the wall could be heard as they approached the room. With magical shields readied with their fists the two men cautiously opened the door to the office.

"You must be out of your mind to think that you can get away by…." Stephen trailed before his eyes fell on the foreign object that was the prime cause of the sudden havoc.

The ancient relic was happily rolling up and down on the floor, crashing on the wall from time to time with a loud bang.

Stephen's eyes trailed to his workstation where the now destroyed glass box lay innocently.

'How the hell did it get out of the box?'

On the other hand poor Wong looked like his eyes would pop out of their sockets any second now.

"What in the name of Beyoncé is the Seed of Makardhwaja doing on the floor of your office Strange!?" Wong shrieked at Stephen, the color of his face draining faster than a F1 race car.

"The seed of what now?" Stephen questioned to no avail as Wong was already on the verge of fainting and was literally seeing Kaecilius doing his eye makeup.

"…Oh, so you use a shade of matte black for that effect…" Wong giggled, clearly not in the right mind.

"Wong? You okay man?" Stephen asked concerned for his friend's mental well-being and shook the man to and fro, "Speak to me!"

"I-I'm f-fine!" Wong stuttered having come back to his senses. "The seed!" Wong pointed at the ancient relic that had suddenly stopped dead in its tracks.

"Why did it st-" before Stephen could complete the sentence the relic jiggled in a very violent fashion and let out a blinding golden light which engulfed the entire room and temporarily blinding the two wizards and the Cloak of Levitation in the process.

After a few seconds the bright light dimmed down and the two men looked over at the direction of the relic when they heard a small wail of a child. There in the place of the relic was a stark naked baby girl looking no older than a day wailing as softly as she could.

"It's a baby…" Stephen trailed as he slowly bent over and gently picked up the tiny baby in his arms. The Cloak of Levitation wasted no time in wrapping itself around the baby to provide her with warmth. Stephen looked over at the little bundle in his arms and could not help but feel a sense of familiarity with the baby who nuzzled up to his chest.

"…Strange…" Wong spoke up "Did you happen to spill some of your blood on the Seed of Makardhwaja?"

Stephen turned back to Wong and with a slight shrug said, "I may have cut my finger on the relic which caused some blood to drop on it. Why do you ask though?"

"…Because the baby you are holding in your arms is yours"

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Stephen asked sounding astonished. "How can she be my child?"

"Because you messed up with the Seed of Makardhwaja which was made from the magical powers of one of the first Sorcerer Supreme Lord Hanuman!" Wong said giving out an exasperated sigh. "I should not forget that it has only been half a year since you became the Master of the Mystic Arts and are probably lacking on the history part of your job."

"Care to explain Wong?" Stephen said, his curiosity building up with every passing second.

"Okay…" Wong started with the story of how the Seed of Makardhwaja got into being, "Sorcerer Supreme Lord Hanuman wished to have a child of his own, but he was born a celibate and could not bear any offspring. So he channeled some of his magical powers into a relic, which he called the Seed of Makardhwaja. Unfortunately for Lord Hanuman he was more of a deity and could not meet the needs of the relic to produce an offspring. Added with the fact that he gained a worthy apprentice who would succeed him as the next Sorcerer Supreme, Lord Hanuman slowly forgot about the Seed of Makardhwaja and soon died once his successor took over him. The seed was kept safely in Kamar Taj before being shifted to the New York Sanctum by the Ancient One a few months prior to her death."

Wong glanced at the tiny baby in Stephen's arms, "It is said that the seal on the seed can only be broken if the blood of the initiator gets inside the seed where it infuses with its magical powers resulting in the formation of an offspring…"

"So she really is my daughter…" Stephen said looking fondly at his newborn baby.

"Yes she is…" Wong sighed, a small smile forming on his lips as he watched Stephen fawn over his magical daughter.

The three of them basked in the peaceful silence for a moment before Wong spoke up again. "Well then, what will you name the little munchkin?"

Stephen looked back at his friend, confusion evident on his face. "I don't know Wong. She is just too perfect."

"Not exactly…" Wong trailed and Stephen gave him an offended look.

"I didn't mean it that way Strange!" Wong explained, "I meant that she is a child born out of imperfection and by imperfection I mean to say you, a human. The main flaw in Lord Hanuman's plan while creating the seed was that he made it too perfect. The seed craved for imperfection but Lord Hanuman could provide none as he himself was more of a cosmic deity than human."

"I see…"

"Then, have you thought of a name? I was thinking that Tian Cha would be a nice name for a baby girl "

"Wong, I'm not going to name my daughter sweet tea!"

Stephen placed a soft kiss on his daughter's forehead and said, "Peach Sherry Strange"

Peach smiled at her father as if to tell that she liked the name.

"Hypocrite" Wong deadpanned, "You tell me off because I want to name her sweet tea and then you name the poor baby after a fruit..."

Sadly, Stephen was too busy cooing at his giggling daughter.

"Don't you like your name Peach? "

"Gu gu gahh!"

Hey there! So I had this plot bunny in my mind for over a year now and I finally decided to pen it down. This is gonna be a long series so be prepared. Also, I tweaked up the timeline a bit so the events of Doctor Strange take place in the early 2003s and Peach is born in the late 2003s. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
