"Use, THUNDER WAVE!" Tavin commanded his Pikachu. Pikachu did as he said and used Thunderwave, the attack paralyzing the opposing trainer's Geodude.
"Aw, dang it! Um… crap!" the trainer said.
"Pikachu, use QUICK ATTACK!" Tavin commanded Pikachu. This attack caused Geodude to faint.
"Uh… go, Pidgey!" the trainer shouted as he grabbed a Pokeball off his belt and opened it, releasing Pidgey. "Pidgey use, GUST" Pidgey used Gust, but it wasn't effective against Pikachu. "Oh, come on Pidgey! You can do better than that!"
"PIkachu use, THUNDER SHOCK!" Tavin commanded. The attack was super effective against Pidgey, and he fainted instantly upon impact.
"Awww… you've beaten all my Pokemon. Where'd you get Pikachu anyway, I thought they were hecka rare?" the trainer asked.
"I found it in a grass patch near Professor Oak's lab, right after I chose my starter Pokemon, Charmander." Tavin replied.
"Well, I know where I'm going now!" and with that, the trainer ran off.
"Good luck!" Tavin said, then he headed off as well. "Den City, here I come." Tavin said to himself. Tavin walked through Route 2, occasionally walking around in grass patches in hopes to find a good Pokemon. So far he only had Charmander and Pikachu. The first Pokemon he ran into was a Rattata, but he just decided to battle it.
Tavin released Charmander for battle, "Charmander use, EMBER!" and that was all it took to make Rattata faint. The second Pokemon he found was a NidoranM. He decided to catch this one since it's third evolution was awesome. And after that, he continued his journey. After about half a hour of walking through different pathways to try and find secrets, battling wild Pokemon for XP, and occasionally finding odd hidden Pokeballs that contained different items like potions, different types of Pokeballs, etc, Tavin finally reached Den City. oh, yeah and he caught an Eevee.
"Wow…" Tavin said, entering the city. The first thing he saw was the gym, which he heard a lot about. But he figured that he wasn't strong enough to bet it yet. So he decided to level up his Pokemon more. He walked back into a grass patch, spotting a Bellsprout. Instead of fainting this one, he decided to catch it, and moved on to another wild Pokemon. The next Pokemon was a Sunkern.
"Go, Charmander!" Sunkern managed to land an attack-absorb-on Charmander, but it wasn't effective at all, and did nothing to Charmander.
"Charmander use, EMBER!" and with that single attack, Sunkern fainted. After that battle, Tavin noticed that something was happening to his Charmander. It was glowing. "What the heck?" suddenly, there was a flash of a bright white light, and Charmander evolved into Charmeleon! Tavin was thrilled by the sight of Charmeleon. Charmeleon also learned a new move, Dragon Rage. "Hmm, I wonder in Dragon Rage is any good?" so he decided to test Dragon Rage on another wild Pokemon, Electrike. The attack instantly made Electrike faint. "WOW!" Tavin shouted excitedly, "That move's really good!" he continued, "I can beat that gym for sure!" and with that he ran into Den City, heading to the gym.
Tavin ran straight inside, almost sprinting past one of the trainers inside.
"Hey kid! Where you think you're goin'!?" the trainer asked. Tavin, who had never been to a gym before, was obviously confused.
"Huh?" he asked, scratching his head.
"You think we're all here to watch the gym leader beat you.? You gotta fight us first!" the employee replied, pointing to all the others, who were waiting for a fight.
"Oh, heh. Sorry…" Tavin apologized, still scratching his head, an awkward smile on his face Tavin reached into his backpack, grabbing a Pokeball out of it, "Go, Charmeleon!" he shouted, Charmeleon appearing out of the Pokeball.
"Go, Graveler!" the trainer shouted, releasing Graveler from a Pokeball on his hip. Tavin had never seen a Graveler before, and this was a surprise.
"Woah…" he said in awe.
"Well, are ya gonna attack or not?"
"Oh, yeah. Sorry. Charmeleon use, EMBER!" Tavin commanded.
"Is that the best you can do!?" the trainer exclaimed as Charmeleon's Ember hit Gravelers forearms, ultimately blocking the attack.
"Graveler, BULLDOZE!" and with that command, Graveler rolled forward, getting closer to Charmeleon. Charmeleon jumped out of the way, Graveler stopping and turning around to face him.
"Charmeleon use, DRAGON RAGE!" Tavin shouted. Charmeleon leaped forward, opening his mouth and releasing a huge burst of fire. The attack managed to knock Graveler back, also doing a great deal of damage.
"Dragon Rage, eh… Graveler use, EARTHQUAKE!" and as that command was heard by Graveler, the Pokemon jumped up, slamming into the ground and causing a small earthquake around the area of the battle. Knocking Charmeleon down and almost making him faint.
"Oh no. Charmeleon use, uh… DRAGON RAGE again!" but this time, Charmeleon's Dragon Rage narrowly missed his target.
"Graveler, finish him off! Use ROLLOUT!" and with that last attack, Charmeleon fainted.
"Awe man…" Tavin said sadly as he returned Charmeleon to his Pokeball, switching him with Pikachu. "Come on pikachu, you can do this." Tavin assured. "Use, THUNDER SHOCK!" Pikachu used Thunder Shock, but it wasn't very effective.
"Graveler use, TACKLE!" Graveler leaped forward, crashing on top of Pikachu and bouncing off. Pikachu was almost fainted, just one more attack would do it. "Graveler, again!" and then Pikachu was fainted. "Any more Pokemon for me to defeat?"
"Just an Eevee." Tavin answered.
"Heh, easy win."
Tavin released Eevee, though he knew he had no chance at winning anymore.
"Graveler use, SELF DESTRUCT." the trainer said. And that was all it took to faint both Eevee and Graveler. "Come back when you're better, kid. Then… you might actually have a chance..."
But before he walked off, Tavin remembered something, "Wait!" he reached into his backpack, grabbing another Pokeball and taking it out. Tavin opened it, releasing Bellsprout.
"Awe, crap." the trainer said.
"What's wrong, afraid of a little Bellsprout?" Tavin mocked.
"Heh, not likely." and with that the trainer released his second and last Pokemon, Nosepass.
"Go ahead, I'll let you go first." Tavin said.
"Not a good idea, but who cares. Nosepass use, HARDEN!" the trainer commanded. Nosepass used Harden, raising his defense.
"Bellsprout use, SLEEP POWDER!" Tavin commanded. The attack made Nosepass fall asleep.
"Dang it! Nosepass wake up! Wake up you idiot!"
"Bellsprout use, VINE WHIP!" Tavin commanded.
"NOO!" the trainer said as Bellsprout used Vine Whip. the attack was super effective, and Nosepass instantly fainted.
"Yes!" Tavin exclaimed happily.
"Alright, you beat me. But don't forget, you still have the whole gym to fight." the trainer told Tavin.
"Oh… right…" Tavin walked over to his next opponent to battle.
The trainer watched as he walked over, "So, you've managed to defeat Bryce." she said. Tavin nodded, "Surely I won't be beat so easily. Go, Lairon!" she shouted, releasing Lairon from a Pokeball.
"Go, Bellsprout!"
"Not a smart choice… Lairo use, IRON TAIL!" the trainer commanded. Lairon jumped into the air, light shining on his metallic tail as he came down and smacked Bellsprout with it. Bellsprout flew backwards, only stopping when he hit the wall behind.
"Uh oh… Bellsprout use, VINE WHIP!" Tavin commanded. Bellsprout got up, vines emerging from his body and slapping Lairon all over. Lairon was knocked back a little.
"Lairon use, HEADBUTT!" and with that command, Lairon charged forward towards bellsprout with great speed, ramming into Bellsprout and instantly causing him to faint.
"Aw man… Bellsprout, return." Tavin said. After bellsprout was returned to his Pokeball, Tavin released Eevee for battle. "Eevee use, BITE!" Tavin commanded. Eevee bit Lairon, but the attack did almost nothing.
"Oh come on, did you really think that would work? Lairon use, METAL CLAW!" Lairon raised its arm, metallic claws growing on its hands. Eevee stared frozen in fear as lairon swiped his claws at it. Eevee was knocked back into Tavin's foot, quickly getting up to fight.
"Eevee use, QUICK ATTACK!" Tavin shouted. Eevee used Quick Attack, but that didn't do much either.
"Lairon, finish Eevee off with, SWIFT!" the trainer commanded. Lairon used swift, and Eevee quickly fainted. "I suggest you get to the Pokecenter, ametuer." Tavin walked to the exit, opening the door and walking out sadly. He went to the Pokecenter to let his Pokemon rest, then going back to Route 2 to train some more. Tavin released Eevee to battle a wild NidoramM
"Eevee use, QUICK ATTACK!" Tavin commanded. Eevee use Quick Attack on NidoranM, nearly making him faint. NidoranM used Peck on Eevee. "Eevee use, BITE!" and with that attack, NidoranM fainted. After that, Tavin noticed a Pokeball in the distance, and walked over to grab it. Tavin picked it up and opened it. When he did, some kind of glowing blue gem was inside. Tavin grabbed it and held it in his hand for a little, trying to figure out what it was. Suddenly, one of his Pokeballs began to glow… Eevee.
"Huh?" Tavin mumbled. He released Eevee from its Pokeball and held the stone out in front of Eevee. Eevee began to glow as the stone hovered out of his hand and approached Eevee. And with a bright flash of light, Eevee changed into a different Pokemon. "Woah! What the heck just happened!?" Tavin couldn't find the stone anywhere. He grabbed his Pokedex from his backpack and held it above the now evolved Eevee.
The Pokedex spoke in a monotone voice, "VAPOREON SPOTTED. INFORMATION: BUBBLE JET POKEMON. VAPOREON LIVES CLOSE TO WATER, IT'S LONG TAIL IS RIDGED WITH A FIN WHICH IS OFTEN MISTAKEN FOR A MERMAID. EEVEE EVOLVES INTO VAPOREON WITH USE OF A WATER STONE."
"Wow, so that's what that stone was." Tavin said, "Maybe now I can beat that gym!" and with that he ran off towards the gym to battle again.
