Rowena Kawanii adjusted the hyperdrive on her Delta Aethersprite star fighter with the new hyperdrive core she had acquired. She tightened it with her hydrospanner, and jumped down.
"Still working on that, kid?" a voice called to her.
"It will match yours soon, Master Tiin, " she said jokingly, as she looked over at the Ikotchi Jedi Master.
He shook his head, "You spend enough time on it as it is. We just got a comm from Master Windu, I'm going to the briefing room to see what it is he wants. You coming?"
"I didn't hear anything on my comm, Master, but I will anyways." She picked up her Jedi cloak from where she had put it over a crate, and slipped it on. The two walked out of the hangar bay into a large hall, heading for the turbo lift which would take them to the briefing room on the seventh level.
As they entered the briefing room, hundreds of eyes followed them in. Saesee Tiin stepped through the crowd to Master Windu, while Rowena stayed on the side lines. The two Masters were deep in conversation for a few moments and then Master Windu turned to face the crowd.
"Jedi Knights, I have called you here to the briefing room, all who were at the temple. We have received a message from Anakin Skywalker. Obi-Wan Kenobi has been captured on Geonosis by Count Dooku. All Jedi Knights are to come with me to Geonosis. We leave at once. Dismissed."
All Jedi Knights present filed out of the room, eager to get to their star fighters They rushed down to the hangar bay.
Rowena slipped on her headset as soon as she climbed into her cockpit, and did a preliminary check on all systems.
"Ready, Ar four?"
The little astro droid piped a reply.
"Let's hope that hyperdrive core I installed is working properly. Deactivate landing systems, and engage sublight." She pressed a few buttons, and the canopy closed overhead. R4-J9 engage the thrusters, and soon, they were cruising out of the hangar bay. Within a half an hour, they were out of Coruscant's atmosphere, joining the other star fighters
"We wait to jump on Master's Windu's command, Ar four Download the coordinates." The little droid beeped a reply and a set of coordinates flashed on the screen. She looked over at the neighboring star fighter, one that carried Master Quinlan Vos. She waved her hand in a gesture, and he smiled in reply.
"Open a comm channel with Master Vos." The little droid replied, saying that there was one open already.
"Quinlan." She started. "I'm quite surprised you're back on Coruscant. I hadn't expected to see you at all."
"Neither did I. I thought you were on Ansion."
"I just came back a few days ago. I thought you weren't going to come back for a while."
"I was only on Anaxes. I received Windu's summons." She could feel him searching for her through the Force. She blocked his presence and shook her head, brown hair falling into her eyes.
"I don't like it when you do that. We agreed-"
"I know what we agreed to, Rowena."
"Jedi! Please keep this channel clear!" Mace Windu's deep voice came through the channel. He had arrived in his star fighter only moments before. Rowena reddened a little bit at being overhead on a channel she thought was a private one.
"We jump on my mark. One...two...mark."
The star fighters blasted into hyperspace. "Time to see if this works...What now?" the hyperdrive system flashed on her display. Faulty wiring. " I'll have to fix it later. Cut into the backup core, Ar four" Once again, the stars disappeared into lines.
