Prologue

Hoenhiem yawned as he looked through a large book that at face value appeared to be about automail but was in fact extensive alchemy research notes. This night was shaping up to be much like his last few nights - no sleep and little progress.

That is, until a large tremor shook the frame of the house and he glimpsed a bit of blue light seeping in under the door. He set his book down on his desk and walked out into the living room, where he saw Trisha comforting a small child.

"Shh." He heard her murmur to the boy, one hand running through the messy black hair, "It's alright, your safe here…"

"Trisha?" Hoenhiem said softly, trying to get his wife's attention. He was rewarded for his efforts when Trisha pulled away from the boy and looked over at him.

The first thing Hoenhiem noticed about the boy were his unnaturally bright green eyes that made his breath stop when they locked on to his own. He was unnerved when he got the feeling that the boy was able to see into his very soul.

Once he got past the boys gaze, he noticed what had got his wife so upset - the bloody lip, too large clothes and the bruise on his upper arm all screamed abuse. His attention was drawn back to his wife when he heard her speak to him. "He doesn't even know his own name."

Hoenhiem kneeled before the small boy and held the unnerving gaze once more as he spoke softly, "How old are you?"

The boys answer was whispered so silently that Hoenhiem had to strain to hear it even though he was right in front of the boy, "Six."

Hoenhiem heard Trisha inhale sharply as his face darkened - the boy looked much to small to be six. "Well then," he heard his wife speak after absorbing that information, "How would you like to stay here with us?"

"Trisha…" Hoenhiem started, but it died in his throat as he saw his wife's glare.

He looked back at the boy just as he spoke up softly, "I'd like that."

"Great!" Trisha exclaimed and pulled the child into a hug, but pulled back quickly and looked at her husband, "He needs a name."

Hoenhiem looked at his wife and then stood up and studied the small boy in her arms, "Nickolas," He said with a nod, "Nickolas Elric."

To Be Continued

Yay! Prequel done. This is going to be an AU/Post-series for both kind of.

By the way, I never got around to fitting it in but Alphonse was just born and Edwards a year old.

This story will take place in the Harry potter world - most of the fma world stuff will be flashbacks or something to show the changes I put into the fma story - not that there's very many mind you - I tried not to change the fma story too much.

This story will start with Nick(Harry), Ed and Al going through the gate at the end of the series and Al getting his new 11-year-old body and not remembering the last three years.

They'll end up in the HP world and have to deal with voldemort and blah blah blah

and yes I do know Al doesn't go across, so don't mention it - I want him there.
