Jayden/Mia
"Right Here"

"How's Emily?" Mia asks as Mike enters the kitchen.

"Out like a light," he reports. "Even after all that ice-cream she still passed out as soon as she hit her bed."

"Can you blame her? The girl took so many hits from that Nighlok today," Kevin reminds. "If I were her, I would want my rest too."

Mike laughs. "I hope that's not any time soon, because you and me got a date with our swords right now. When Emily wakes up, I've got to be ready." Turning to Jayden and Mia, he flashes a wide smile. "Next time I'm not going to be the one falling on my back."

And with that, Kevin and Mike sprint out of the kitchen.

Mia lets out a laugh and shakes her head, resting her back against the counter and looking at Jayden.

"You're still worried about Emily, aren't you?" He asks it, but they both know what her answer is.

She nods.

"Don't be. She's stronger than she'll ever admit to herself," he reminds. "By tomorrow morning, she'll be the first one up, good as new and ready to train."

"I know, but I guess it's in my nature to worry." Leaning forward, she peers at him. "What about you? How are you feeling? I mean, the Nighlok said some pretty mean stuff about all of us. But what he said about you… That wasn't true, was it?" Jayden shifts on his feet and remains silent. Mia frowns. "Or—I guess it must have been if it affected you like that."

He meets her eyes. "Mia, it's more than—" He swallows. "It's probably not something you should dwell on."

"Jayden, whatever it is, we're not going to judge you. I'm not going to." She steps forward to stand in front of him, looking up into his eyes. "I'm here for you, Jayden. You know that, right?"

He smiles a small smile, but a smile nonetheless.

"I know."

Just a short, pure-fluff moment after "Sticks and Stones" because fluff tends to be my favorite.

(This was taken from "You Saw Me Start to Believe" because I disassembled the drabbles there and turned them into their own posts.)
