A.N Hi...I'm trying to slowly work my way into writing again... I miss my therapy! xD... This is just something I needed to get out... really don't have much to say about it if I'm perfectly honest!
Disclaimer: I wish!
It hurts. A lot. Watching them together. It seems so easy with her, effortless. It's... right. Perfect. She can't stand it. She watches as he grips her waist from behind and buries his nose in her neck inhaling her scent. She leans her head back on his shoulder, gives him a dazzling smile in return.
She turns away, takes up her drink and feigns interest in the mindless babble coming from her best friend. She lets the music from the band wash over her. The lead singer catches her eye, she looks away. He wasn't what she wanted, what she needed.
Another friend squeezes her hand, understands the pain. Assures her that he's just looking for a quick fuck, then she'll be out of his system... but she knows better. This is for real. He's hooked, she's lost him.
He's making his way over to them, she plasters a smile on her face, hopes it doesn't look pained and turns her attention to him. He slings his arms around their shoulders, giddy and tipsy.
From the outside looking in, it was just three friends catching up. But it hurts, more than she will ever admit.
Harsh words.
Dark looks.
Visible hurt.
Overwhelming guilt.
She has to let him go.
"I really like her."
Ouch.
"I don't care what you think"
She stands her ground, she wants to reach out.. one last hug, something to cling on to... but she can't even meet his eyes. Knows that as soon as she looks into the hazel depths she's done for...
So she does what she does best. A snarky comment and turns away, effectively shutting him out.
She wants him to be happy Truly.
But it should have been her.
