"Are you a student here?" The lady with the stunning red wrap grabbed her bag and walked toward the man standing in front of the stage.
"Special Agent Seeley Booth from the FBI." He introduced smartly, dressed in a crisp white shirt and a simple black tie and jacket.
"I'm Doctor Temperance Brennan from the Jeffersonian Institution." She smiled as she shook his hand.
"Do you believe in fate?" Booth asked her as he released her hand.
"Absolutely not. Ludicrous." She held his gaze evenly, but beneath the straight face she was teeming with curiosity.

She was perfect, thought Special Agent Seeley Booth from the FBI as he gazed lovingly at Doctor Temperance Brennan from the Jeffersonian Institution. Everything about her, from the roundness of her barely showing baby bump to her sparkling blue eyes filled to the brim with intelligence and perseverance. Lately he had been wondering how he had been lucky enough to deserve a woman like her. And now, he and his beautiful girlfriend were starting a family together, a life together. Brennan glanced up from her computer to see Booth leaning against her office's doorframe, studying her. She stood and slowly walked over to him, a large smile on her face. Seeing him would always brighten her day, and calm the sea of unruly emotions that her pregnancy had recently surfaced. Tempe walked into his open arms and they stood there for a moment, silently reflecting on their new relationship.
"New dress?" Seeley asked her, backing up a moment to take in the light colours of the dress she was wearing that complimented her skin tone, and her growing stomach. Brennan glanced down at the dark blue V-neck she was wearing.
"Angela took me maternity shopping," Tempe explained, then rolled her eyes, "She now thinks that she is the expert on everything pregnancy related."
"Well, she did an excellent job, Bones," Booth commented approvingly, causing Tempe to blush. Angela chose that moment to walk by Brennan's office and glowed at the approval, giving Booth a thumbs up. She looked remarkably good for a woman who had just recently given birth. Now she was back to working part time, the Jeffersonian was her life, and she was surrounded by the people she loved there. Hodgins and Angela had only just hired a nanny to watch Michael while they were both at work.
"So Bones," Booth began, turning back towards her, "How 'bout lunch at the diner?" Tempe smiled; Booth always knew just what she needed. She nodded, and walked over to her desk to retrieve her purse.
Back at the door, she glanced up at Booth, "Sounds good," she replied happily, then added, "I always seem to be hungry these days." Booth grinned at that.
"That's because you're eating for two," he said fondly, before putting his arm around Brennan's shoulders, and leading her out of the Jeffersonian.
