AUTHOR'S NOTES: Please do review. This is my first drabble and I think everything seems rushed but what's your opinion? So please enjoy your read.
Tobias was sick and tired of his freak wife. He was never going to let his son become like her. He wrapped his hands around her sunken throat and she breathed no more.
Severus would always try but Lily Evans had no interest in him. He could do strange things once but his father beat it out of him. Where was this school that Lily often disappeared to?
He became a lawyer; lies fell from his lips with ease. He went through marriage, kids, divorce. Everyday he wishes for adventure but he was just your normal everyday man, nothing more.
He pressed the knot in the Whomping Willow; it froze. Black was telling the truth. He trudged through the passageway; now he would see what Lupin was up to. Growls echoed. He should turn back; but curiosity was a dangerous thing. He reached the room staring at torn-up furniture; all was quiet. A snarl sounded behind him; he turned. A massive creature hovered. He fell back as the creature lunged at him. Claws dug through his stomach and a piercing scream filled the air.
Sirius sighed; he had detention. He never got to tell James about his prank; tomorrow then.
Lily always wondered who that quaint boy was. She always tried to say hi but he never replied. He would just sit there and stare at her. It was creepy; he was only a year or two younger than her.
She saw him again; beckoning her. He brought her to a house; his maybe. It was empty; pointed up the stairs bringing her to his room. She stayed until nightfall; reassured her worried mother.
Only years later did she find out the tragedy of the house that made headlines: Drunken Man Kills Wife and Son then Turns Gun on Himself.
Lily stood firm on her decision and though it disappointed her husband, he didn't dare say otherwise. She watched Severus play with young Harry; a smile on both their faces and she knew she made the right choice. She lightly punched her husband who was glaring daggers at her son's Godfather. It would take a while but she knew that James would warm up to him. Severus smiled at her; he made the right choice and she was proud. He turned from Voldermort; he chose the light. There was no other she would so readily trust her son's life with.
"What do you want Severus?"
"News my lord. It seems both your snake and Harry were casualties in Malfoy Manor."
"What! The boy was mine! No matter; now there is no one standing in my way."
"Of course my lord. My lord?"
"What is it?"
"Avada Kedavra!"
"You were a fool, my lord. Dumbledore and The Ministry are gone. Who now will stop me? I am more powerful than you ever will be. You always said that old fool was always so trusting; the same can be said about you. The name Severus Snape shall be the one feared now."
