You had to feel sorry for L, at the moment he was bound by chains to the wall of a cell in Ireland. The reason was simple, he had challenged the descendent of Artemis Fowl the Second, a terrible idea. This woman was by no means your average everyday person, far from that in fact. At the age of thirteen she was in her second year of collage, by the time she was seventeen she had committed many a crime and gotten away with it. Not only that but she had many patens out, mostly for military use. One of which was a mechanical dog.
The dog was bullet proof for one thing, with steal fangs and razor claws it was mean, of course if that was it…well, it would never be effective. It could be controlled from two thousand miles, easy. It had a built in machine gun in its mouth and best of all the neck didn't need to stay stiff, the machine gun (when needed) would lock into place stiffening the neck…solution the entire thing moves.
Yet that's no were near the point of this…oh no, this is about L being made an example of, but by who? Who is pulling the strings?
I enjoyed my view of L, who at the moment had no shirt on and was chained to the wall.
"So L, did you ever expect this," I waved my hand at the chains, "to be the consequence I warned you of?"
He moved his head to look at me and I swear my breath hitched. I remembered those eyes… coal black that seemed to look at my very soul. I had only to wonder if he remembered me.
"You don't remember me, do you L?" I asked sadly.
"Miss Fowl, I…" a look of recognition crossed his face, "Mira?"
"Long time no see L, glad to see you finally remember me."
"How could you do something like this Mira? Its not like you." I unlocked the cuffs and placed my head on his shoulder.
"They killed them L, all but Butler…they killed them."
"That doesn't make sense Mira, who is they? Who did they kill?"
"I can't say for sure yet who they are but I've been trying to find out. But L, I don't know what to do anymore…t-they killed everyone. Mother, Father, my brother and all the staff. Save Butler and I my family," I stopped my body shaking as I cried onto L's shoulder, "t-there're g-gone L. Everyone. Gone… I just don't know what to do anymore."
"Mira," he sounded breathless, "I…when did this happen?" He warped strong arms around my waist as I struggled to get myself back in check.
"Not long ago, maybe two or three weeks ago."
"I should gather a team to collect information for us…"
"L, no."
"But, Mira why not?"
"If you leave, they said that you'd be leaving in a garbage bag. I don't want to see you get hurt L, not for me. For now L, I want you to stay close to me so Butler can protect both of us."
