Usopp stood next to Chopper with a nervous look in his eye. With one hand on the rail of the Thousand Sunny, he leaned over and looked down at the ship's side. A rush of nerves flooded through him when he saw the damage that was done to it. The rugged coastline wasn't kind to the ship and it created a massive cavity in the side.
"Nami isn't going to be happy about this," Usopp said, anxiously looking over his shoulder for any sign of the navigator.
Chopper bounced down from his spot on the rail and looked up at him. "How long do you think it will take to fix the Thousand Sunny?"
"Franky said that it'd take less than a day to repair the damage," Robin informed them, moving to the side of the ship and peering down at the chewed up wood.
Resting a hand over his brow line, Usopp explored the island's surface. "Where do you think we are?"
"That's a good question," Robin said thoughtfully, "I'm not sure."
Climbing down from the crows nest, Zoro rubbed at a knot on the back of his head. His eyebrows were furrowed tight and it was clear that he was irritated.
Nami followed close behind him with her hand balled in a tight fist. "You were supposed to keep watch last night!"
Slumping behind Usopp for protection, Chopper frowned and pointed a finger. "Nami doesn't look happy!"
"It was the stupid cooks turn," Zoro retorted in anger, "I kept watch the other night!"
"Have you already forgotten, Nami," Franky beamed wide, carrying supplies of timber over his shoulder, "you have the best shipwright on the seas! I'll have the Thousand Sunny fixed up in no time!"
Nami's finger tips dug into her hip and she tapped her foot on the deck. She knew that Franky could clean the mess up in a matter of hours, but that still didn't excuse the fact that no one kept watch the entire night. It was irresponsible and they could have ended up on the bottom of the sea or worse; they could have run into an enemy.
Chopper took a side step out from behind Usopp. "Maybe while we wait, I can look for some roots and herbs?" He suggested. "You can never have too much!"
Robin brushed a hand over the imaginary dust on her purple dress. "I'll accompany you," she smiled, "if you don't mind."
Chopper looked up at her eagerly. "I don't mind! Let me grab a few things and then we can head out!"
Rushing across the deck, the reindeer disappeared behind the sickbay's door. Reappearing seconds later with his backpack in hand, he paraded back over to Robin's side.
With the same eager smile, he shoved his arms through the straps of his bag. "Ready?"
Robin nodded. "I'm ready," she said with a kind smile and a playful wink.
"All right," fixing the bag over his shoulders, Chopper took the lead, "let's go!"
Not a moment after Robin and Chopper departed, Sanji swung the kitchen door open and stepped out with an empty bag in his hand.
"Nami-Swan! Robin-Chwan!" He called out gleefully. "I'm off to find some food to feed your perfect bodies!"
"Robin already left," Usopp muttered, jabbing his thumb in the direction of the island.
Nami reached out and took a tight hold of Zoro's ear- shoving him in Sanji's direction. "Don't forget to take this moron with you!"
Zoro bared sharp teeth at her and resisted the urge to show her how it felt to be pushed around. "Why do I have to go with him!?"
Nami was about to answer him, but she stopped when Luffy's shadow caste over them. He was standing tall on top of the crows nest's roof with a hand rested on his straw hat.
"Hey," he called out, "what's everyone doing!?"
Usopp's jaw fell to the ground and he pointed an accusing finger at him. "Are you just waking up?!"
Nami's mouth started to ache from the constant grinding of her teeth. "We're shipwrecked!"
"Shipwrecked?" Luffy repeated. His eyes moved to the beach. It was clear he hadn't noticed that the Thousand Sunny was crashed along side an unknown island.
"Where are we?"
Nami sighed. "We don't know yet," she answered, combing a stressful hand through her hair. When her fingers reached the ends, she tugged at them. "Why don't you join Zoro and Sanji and find out?"
"From Fishman Island," Brook appeared from the kitchen with a cup of milk, "to an unknown island."
"Hey! Don't drink the last of our supplies!" Sanji barked out. "We don't know if we'll find anything on this island!"
Usopp tried to ignore the constant growling in his stomach. "Why didn't we stock up on food?!"
"We did," Sanji muttered, "but someone ate it all in one night."
Luffy laughed and rubbed at his belly. "I couldn't help it," he said, "I was hungry!"
Nami waved a hand and dismissed their conversation. "I'm going to see if I can get a rough outline of the island. I need you three," she pointed to Zoro, Sanji and Luffy, "to find food and figure out exactly where we are."
"I'm going to stay here," Usopp decided, "I have my own things to work on." In truth, he was too scared to explore the unknown island. He had enough 'fun' on Fishman Island to last him a life time.
Brook waved his glass of milk in the air, some of it sloshing out of the side. "And I will stay behind too!"
"Stop wasting the milk!" Sanji shouted.
"Yo-ho-ho," Brook tittered. "Oops!"
"I'm going to-" Sanji made a choking gesture with his hand. He would have choked the skeleton, too- if he had a neck to choke.
Luffy dropped down onto a beam that was connected to the mast. Resting his hand habitually to his straw hat, he observed the island with a zealous eye. "Do you think anyone lives here?"
"There's only one way to find out," Sanji said, throwing an empty bag over his shoulder. Walking to the rail, he set his foot on it for leverage and pulled himself up onto it. Briefly, he scanned the island and then he looked over his shoulder at Zoro and Luffy. "Ready?"
