So, I was bored and decided to write this. Hope you enjoy it! :)
"Daniel, are you almost done yet? You've been at it for hours." Came Jack's ever petulant voice.
"Jack, we've been here for maybe twenty minutes, so no, I'm not almost done."
"Well can you hurry it up?
Daniel put his head in his hands.
"No, I cant 'hurry it up'." He lifted his head and gestured at the wall in front of him, that was covered in alien text. "But if you'd like to try figuring out the alien language, then by all means be my guest."
Jack stared blankly at the wall. "Well that one kinda looks like a triangle." He pointed at one of the symbols on the wall, that did indeed, look like a triangle.
"Will you look at that! He's solved it! Who would have guessed that you could learn a language by figuring out that one character looks like a triangle!" Daniel exclaimed with false cheer.
"Okay, okay, I get it, leave rock boy to his rocks."
Daniel sighed. "Why are even still here?"
Jack raised his hand to his heart. "I'm offended Daniel, can't I be interested in what you're doing?"
"Jack, when it comes to you, no you can't."
Sighing Jack responded, "Fine, I'm here to make sure you don't touch something like you did last time."
"Hey! How was I supposed to know it would blow up? It's not like ruins typically blow up."
"No they don't typically blow up, but when it comes to you, when has anything been typical?"
Daniel opened and closed his mouth, before going back to his work with a 'humph', Jack grinned triumphantly.
"Huh, that's interesting..."
"What is it?" Jack asked, moving around to peer over Daniel's shoulder.
"Jaaack." Daniel complained, reaching up an absent hand to swat him away.
Jack moved back, coming up on his right instead. "Well? What is it?"
"There appears to be an indent on this character. Like it can be pushed in..."
He reached out a hand to touch it.
"Daniel!" Jack yelled, reaching out a hand to tug Daniel's back.
But it was too late. Daniel had already pushed the character into the wall. There was a pause where neither of them moved.
"Huh." Daniel remarked. "Nothing hap-" He was cut off as the ground started to rumble.
"That's not good." Jack remarked just as the ground and temple started shaking. Ruble started falling around them.
"And that's our cue to leave." Jack yelled over the noise.
Grabbing Daniel's arm Jack pulled him to the entrance. The pair had just made it outside when the entire thing collapsed into a heap. Daniel and Jack turned to stare at the remains of the temple.
"Only you Daniel, only you." Jack said with a sigh.
Daniel stared at the heap of rubble sadly.
"My camera was still in there..." He muttered.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! I did the last half on my phone, and let me just say, I would not recommend it. At one point my phone decided that 'happen' would work much better in all caps. Anywho, thanks for reading, favoriting and or commenting! It means a lot.
