She was perfect. Now I know what many of you are thinking, "Not another one of those stories!" But it's not like that.
She had been brought up to be perfect. Any sort of 'imperfection' had been beaten or cursed out long ago. She had been raised to be the perfect heir, the perfect daughter and, when the time came, the perfect wife and mother.

She had been trained ever since she could talk how to speak when her voice was needed to fill silences, how and when to laugh, to listen when people needed to talk, how to lie and tell half-truths when necessary, how and when to use her 'mask'. She was taught how to walk as if she were gliding, to talk with impeccable grammar and pronunciation, how to cast spells so that they never went awry and she had been taught potion making since she could read. Her grades were always top of the year; she cleaned her room and did everything she was asked immediately. But that wasn't her.

Not many people could get close enough to call her anything but 'friend', her training was too good. Of course she had dated other purebloods but nothing lasted very long, she was too cordial, too polite. Most found it a little disconcerting to be around such a silent, seemingly perfect young lady, for she had never been a girl.

When she was young she had spent most of her time around her parent's friends and their children but she never played those "silly little games that purebloods don't play". When she had gone to Hogwarts it had been a little bit of an adventure for her, she was finally allowed to do things her way. Who cared if she got up at 9am on a Saturday?

Then there was the day she met her betrothed. She had grown up hearing about him but she'd never met him for fear they would be more like siblings than spouses. In a way she had been glad her parents had signed a betrothal contract, she wouldn't have to go through the issue of "what if he's not Mr Right". But in a way it was another sign of how much control her parents had over her life.

He had courted her for about half a year, as was required, before they were wedded. She was pregnant with their first child before they were truly comfortable with each other but after that, they just clicked. Both of them had similar upbringings so they knew were each other was coming from and neither of them wanted their children to have the same training and expectations they had.

They are happy now. They live in one of the manors near enough to their parents but they don't see them much anymore.

"Mummy, will you play with us please!" her children chorus and instead of the reply she had been taught to say, one that would reprimand them not only for calling her 'mummy' and not 'mother' but for playing 'silly little games' in the first place. She merely laughs and runs off to play whatever game they want.
