She was young,
Hair red as fire,
Skin white as snow,
With a love he would never know.
He was handsome,
Hair brown as chocolate,
Mind sharp as a tack,
Dreaming of a love
He would never know.
Given a chance,
To be friends,
But so much more,
Lay just in sight,
Just out of reach.
He'd never know,
She'd never say,
The words that
They could only dream.
Forever was a never,
For the two dreamers.
Friends forever never more,
Only unspoken love,
Never shared.
He would have given
His own life.
She would have given
Even more just to hear,
I love you, dear.
Now too late,
Cause death do them part.
Leaving both with only
A broken heart.
This is fate's tale,
Of two so close,
But yet so far.
If only one had
Seen the joy of love.
Maybe then, Maybe some how,
They would have found
The greatest truth,
The life love held,
Just out of reach.
