The Mentalist Episode Tag "Red Listed" – 6x04
Disclaimer: If they were mine, I'd have them pin each other to a wall. As it is, we need to be content with a secret smile or two.
A/N: Usually, not my style to write a tag (there are far better authors for this), but this I would have liked to see. Just fluff.
"I was hoping you'd choose the massage." Jane said with a smile behind her back.
Lisbon just rolled her eyes, and proceeded out of the attic. They had work to do, not planning on which oil to use on her sore shoulder. Reede would already wait for them at the crime scene, and… Oh dear. Not again. Lisbon groaned inwardly. Not another Red John suspect to confront. She would be - - -
Sensing her mind going a mile a minute, her discomfort and worry, Jane stepped behind her, and murmured in her ear: "Don't worry Lisbon. We'll catch him, and then you'll get your massage. I promise." He couldn't help but ghosting a breath across her neck, not quite touching her.
But soon…
He didn't realize he was too close until Lisbon spun around, taking deliberate strides towards him, until he was backed up against his makeshift bed. Taken by surprise, he sat down when his knees came in contact with the hard wood, and looked up to a thoroughly upset Lisbon.
"You."
Eyes on fire, she raised a finger, and poked him in the chest, emphasizing every word.
"Stop teasing me, Jane."
Part of Jane was secretly enjoying the slight pain her finger caused on his torso, and he had to struggle to keep a smile from his face.
Unlucky for him, Lisbon spotted it anyway.
"You think this is a joke? I'll tell you what, buddy." He could see that she was bracing herself for something important, and if he had had a way to escape, he'd have run. But as things were, he had no other choice than to let her say her piece.
"All this talk about massages, and love in the air, and 'marrying me off in a minute' is fine. I can deal with that.
"But.
"Don't go torturing me with your touches, when you've got no intention of seeing it through. You got me?"
Her chest was heaving heavily, like after a short sprint and tackling a suspect, and again Jane admired her physique, and her face, which had taken a rosy glow due to her outburst.
Without waiting for his reply, she whirled around and stormed out of the room.
Jane sat still, wide eyed, and a bit shocked.
Wow.
She was a little firecracker, all right. Who knew she could surprise him, after all these years.
So much to discover yet with Agent Teresa Lisbon.
A slow grin ghosted across his features.
He couldn't wait.
A/N: So we'll see some more of Jisbon in coming episodes. Fine with me. The more I look at screenshots of the last ep, the more Jisbon moments appear. Still not enough.
