"Here."
Mike was surprised when a small, wrapped gift entered his line of vision, blocking the words of the textbook he had been reading. He glanced up to see Blaine standing in front of him, arm extended out in front of him with the present still tightly in his grip. He was biting his bottom lip nervously as his eyes darted from side to side, looking everywhere but at Mike.
"What's this?" Mike asked softly, closing the book and placing it back in his locker before taking the gift from Blaine.
"I, uh…" Blaine stuttered before swallowing thickly. "I got you a present," he finally managed to choke out.
Mike couldn't help his small smile and approving nod as he tore the paper off almost viciously. He could see Blaine watching him from under his eyelashes, still biting his lip anxiously.
"It's nothing much, but… I mean, we're technically best friends now, right? I mean, that's what you said before so I just figured if you're best friends with someone, you should probably get them a Christmas gift cuz that's what best friends are supposed to do, but I mean, if you didn't get me anything or if you're reconsidering this whole best friendship thing, that's totally cool, I mean, I'd understand because Sam's back and he's just so likable and you two have so much in common like your abs and your… abs and I mean, he is extremely attractive but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact you guys are best friends because you're straight and I know that and is that the problem here? That I'm gay? Because you said you were fine with that and you should know that I am in a loving relationship with Kurt, both emotionally and physically, and I never even planned on coming on to you - not that you're not attractive! It's just that-"
"Dude," Mike interrupted quietly, smiling just slightly because watching Blaine babble on and on was sort of fun. "Calm down." Blaine just stood there, opening and closing his mouth a few times before just shutting it and nodding stiffly. "We're best friends, don't worry. And I love my gift." He held the brand new yellow bow tie up to his neck and smiled cheekily down at Blaine. "It's awesome."
"Really?" Blaine asked, eyes and smile lighting up hopefully.
"Totally," Mike said with a nod. "And my parents wanted to invite you to dim sum on Friday. I mean, it's no bow tie, but…"
"No!" Blaine piped up happily. "It's fine. Sounds great." He hesitated just slightly before saying, "I'll be there."
Mike nodded his head and closed his locker. "Cool. I guess I'll see you in glee club," he said with a smile before holding out a fist. Blaine stared at it for a moment before grinning widely and hitting with his own.
As he watched Mike walk down the hall, he couldn't help but agree with Rachel's statement yesterday. This year truly was going to be the best Christmas ever.
I don't know why I make Blaine stutter so much around Mike.
They're just such best friends I wanna cry.
Don't own anything. :)
