Sonic's heart pounded. He felt a stinging pain in his right arm. He touched it, it felt wet. He didn't know where he was, or what was happening. "Ar- Are you okay?" He heard a sweet voice say. He could make out the hazy shape of a female figure with large wings. " Is that you, Rouge?" he asked weakly. "I can't see!"
"Who's Rouge?" The girl asked. "The healing potion has the side effect of blindness. Hold still, and It'll go away faster."
Sonic racked his brain trying to remember what happened. Then the floodgates opened, and it all came in. The portal, the wizard, the duel. But was clearest to him was the bat, with her soft green fur, her billowing blue hair, all hidden behind a ratty brown cloak. He could still remember her soft cries as he fought the evil wizard. Could she be the one taking care of him?
