For you to whisper
Words, incoherent, inaudible
Would tarry in difference
For the soothing of your gentle voice
The wielding of your kind eyes
Would heal,
Any wound, profuse or childish,
That I could possibly hide within the folds of a mask
Any sore that could accumulate itself
Deep within my heart
A smile escaped her lips, one that graced her with every thought of him. Closing her eyes, feeling the ceiling fans soothing rush of air upon her face, she placed a hand on her chest and felt the palpitations of her heart. Her body tingled where he had protectively draped his arm around her waist. Starfire tried to remember the scent of his hair as they had been locked in an embrace. She wanted to live forever in that memory.
She finally opened her eyes, wide-awake from the haunting daydream of eternal bliss, and stood from her bed. The sudden urge of opening the door, rushing to his quarters and intruding to just be in his presence was overpowering. She felt her knees become weak and steadied herself, leaning against the pink colored wall. And all the while she had been in her room she contemplated only one thing.
Why hadn't the atrocity that had attacked them, attacked them sooner?
The feeling of immense happiness, uncontrollable, levitated her effortlessly. She needed to see him, now. She found she had become addicted to him. And, she decided, she had been for a long time.
Starfire, princess of Tamaran, once ruler, was completely and irreversibly in love. Anyone who could not realize that by the look of pure bliss on her face was completely ignorant. And so as she slid her door open gently, as she floated down the ever familiar hallway in titans tower, and reached the living room; Beast Boy and Cyborg exchanged knowing looks. She greeted them absently and continued on her path to reach her destination.
His room.
She finally settled in front of the un-telling gray door, and her feet touched the ground for the first time in hours. Her fist, ready to knock, hesitated momentarily and as it was a hairs length away from the cool metal, the door slid open.
Starfire let out a soft gasp of surprise and then settled for a slight blush that tainted her usually even colored parlor. He too, stopped, his train of thought, the speech he had prepared for hours, completely vanishing. The girl that had been the sole devotion of his thoughts, who had made him feverish with desire to see her, was right in front of him. For hours on end, he had thought himself an idiot for saying the things he had said. For doing the things he had done. He thought that it was a mistake, that she would never be satisfied with having someone like him by her side.
"Hello"
The simple word set Robin's senses on fire. The sound of her voice, everything about her was intoxicating. In a moment of impulse he reached for her hand. She set her gaze upon the gesture and turned to him again. A simple, but breath taking, smile touched her lips.
Robin pulled her by the hand inside his room., and the darkness settled around them like a comforting blanket.
"Starfire," He began, but all words died in his throat.
"Robin?" She questioned worriedly, searching his face in the dark for an answer.
He pulled her to him, his lips upon hers, and the world was forgotten.
You are all but the bane of my existence
You are, or are becoming, the sole reason for it
