I do not own House or any of the characters. I own the nameless woman House describes however. Enjoy! Reviews are welcome.

*~*~*~*

Gregory House was absolutely baffled by this woman lying on the bed in front of him. She slept peacefully, but her insides were boiling with no visible cause. She was beautiful, he had to admit, even though she looked like death was visiting her sometime soon.

What completely baffled him was what she said to him earlier today: "Dr. House, you need to have some fun and forget about your troubles." She barely knew him, but she had said that. He sat in the woman's room and contemplated what his team should do next. He still had to figure out what had happened with Kutner: murder or suicide? It annoyed the hell out of him, but his Puzzle Complex would not rest until he knew for sure.

She stirred and he looked up as the rest of the team filed in: just Foreman, Thirteen, and Taub now and somehow it seemed smaller without Kutner. He was studying her when she smiled at him and said, "What are you doing in here? Go out and have some fun." She coughed, but swallowed the bile.

"We need to run some more tests." House voiced, deciding that he would figure this woman out before she died. "Taub, take her blood again. Foreman, vitals check."

The two set to work as Thirteen looked at House. "Miss, you do understand I am a doctor? I am not allowed to have fun. Especially with patients like you who are sick."

"Dr. House, do you honestly expect me to believe you do not drink nor have friends? Not everyone is as pathetic as me, you know." She smiled again, but this time she looked at Foreman.

"Dr. House likes to live in misery, miss." Foreman answered.

"Dr. House is a moron, then." She responded automatically. "He can't expect to coast through life treating Jane Doe's like myself."

"Maybe I like treating Jane Doe's like yourself." House said.

"That's not it. You want to find out what is so intriguing about me. I see it in your eyes." She started breathing heavily.

"What is it then? Can you answer that?"

"I'm a breath of fresh air. A patient not afraid of death and so easily taken to other people. I like to explore their nature. It's a habit I have." She sighed as he got up from the chair.

"Then tell me, what do these three shlubs have?" House wanted to test her.

"Dr. Foreman cares too much for his patients, almost to an emotional problem. He also loves her." She pointed at Thirteen who gasped a little. "She loves him too, but isn't sure if it will cost her her job. Dr. Taub is worried about his wife and about someone else. Actually, you all are. It seems you all lost someone cl---" She stopped breathing.

"Call the code!" Foreman yelled. Setting to work with the paddles, he tried to revive her, but after the fourth time, gave up.

"Time?" Foreman asked.

"4:34pm."

"She was an empath." Thirteen said.

House quickly walked out and into his office. The others took care of the body as he sat down at his desk and contemplated. That was when he noticed the note:

Dr. House,

Thank you for making my stay here pleasurable. You should smile more, it will change your outlook on live. Good luck with what you are trying to find with your friend.

Love,

Patient in Room 344

House felt a tear coming and realized that she still had no name. She was an enigma that House couldn't figure out anymore.
