AN: Hello! This chapter is very short and I am aware of that. The reason being that I really like this idea that I have for this story, but I don't know if you guys will like it as much. So this is sort of a preview thing. Please review and tell me what you think so far! Even if you hate it, I want to know. If people actually like this, I will repost this chapter and add the rest which I will be writing as soon as I finish typing this. Babysitter and other fics will also be updated soon, and this WILL NOT get in the way of any of those. Thank you!

He was sick of it. Sick of it all.

The changeling lay defeated in the bottom of his bunk bed. All he wanted was one day, just one day to himself. A day without crime, without Robin on his back, and without training. And there was no crime, no Robin, and surprisingly no training. Today was a perfect day to take a stroll through the city. So he did. And what was the outcome?

"Ha! Look at him, Diana! He's an ugly green mutant!"

Garfield flinched. He didn't know who the voice belonged to, and was glad. It didn't matter though; it would've hurt no less coming from someone who was familiar to him.

"You're right, Emily! He has a face that not even his mother could love!"

Beast Boy felt his eyes begin to water. He took a deep breath as his tears made their journey from his eyes to his pillow, making it damp. After hearing those words, he had shifted into a bird, he couldn't even remember the type, and took off to the sky. His face was emotionless, his body movement dull. It wasn't until he reached his room that he unleashed his bottled up emotions. His thoughts lead to him recalling how alone he was. He couldn't even speak to the team about this; about how pathetic he was.

The green shapeshifter sighed, clamping his face down onto his pillow once more after realising he only had himself for comfort. He then imagined his teammate Raven sitting beside him, stroking his hair while whispering soothing words to him. God, how he loved her. She would know what to do, how to put those civilians in their place.

She would never say those things to him. All he ever wanted her to say was that she loved him too.

Beast Boy's soaked eyes were locked on his desk after he lifted his head from the softness of his pillow. He swiftly made his way over to the item that had caught his attention.

The holographic ring.

The one that Cyborg had given the team a few years back, while he was pursuing Brother Blood.

He had never tried it on; he never had the time. In his head, dozens of questions whizzed around in his head; questions that could only be answered by doing one thing.

So he did.

He placed the ring on the tip of his ring finger on his right hand, letting it slide down the rest of the way. He examined his hand as his green skin was replaced by slightly tanned skin. He watched as even his civilian clothing shifted into something that suited his look more. His eyes stayed green, but less cat-like. His fang disappeared, and his green hair was gone, blonde hair taking its place. He quickly ran to his full length mirror to examine himself completely. Taking a few steps back, he gave his eyes time to adjust what was being displayed before them. His sadness and anger was instantly replaced by happiness and contentment.

He looked incredible.
