What's in a Name?
"Hey, Kaoru?" The boy asked, draping his arms over another's shoulders as he worked on what looked like math homework. The two had been working on it together; Hikaru had finished his off a lot sooner then his younger brother.
"Yes, Hikaru?" His attention went to Hikaru, but kept his golden eyes on the piece of paper just to tease him.
"Do you—" His arms tightened just a little more, protectively holding the other. He had to pause for a moment to think of how he exactly wanted to ask, without sounding weird. "Do you ever thing that they switched us up at birth?"
Kaoru just sighed a little, placing the pencil down and running a hand through his brother's hair in a comforting way. He didn't answer for a moment, but finally spoke, "Why would you think that?"
"Well, whenever we play the 'Which One is Hikaru-kun Game' almost everyone thinks you're Hikaru," His voice softened with every word he spoke as he explained his thoughts. It was a thought that had been haunting him for a few weeks now.
"But I'm not Hikaru. You are."
"How do we know that?" Hikaru stood up behind his brother, hanging his head in slight defeat of his own thoughts. Kaoru turned in his chair to face his brother, but there was no eye contact. The younger just sighed again with a small, understanding smile. He stood up and slowly wrapped his arms around Hikaru's neck, resting his forehead on the others.
"Hikaru, do you want to know how I know you're Hikaru?" His voice was quite and soft to his brother's ears as Hikaru looked up and locked eyes with Kaoru. There was confidence in those eyes, and understanding as his younger brother didn't hesitate in anyway as he continued, "I know you're Hikaru because you're my shining star. You always will be."
"That's really cliché, Kaoru," Hikaru laughed a little to himself. His brother's logic was just too stupid to not go with. His arms snaked around Kaoru's waist, pulling him closer still.
"I know. At least I'm not as bad as Tono," The younger twin said, smirking to himself.
"Thank God."

Author's
Notes: Not the greatest thing I've ever written but I
wanted to get the idea down before I forgot it. D: Also, this isn't
supposed to be super detailed. I like leaving many things to the
reader's imagination. So many people have forgotten that sometimes,
less detail is for the better. Please tell me what I need to
do to make it better for you, the reader. Seriously. I'll
constantly be updating this and making it better over time.
Hikaru means shining star in Japanese in case anyone didn't
know. :D
