Chapter I: It Starts Today
I was never one for thinking, even when Robotnik came and killed my parents. I never stopped to think, I just acted. Looking back, it seemed like it did more harm than good, but it made me who I am today. I remember how much Amy used to nag me about never playing it safe; about just rushing into things. I guess she never understood how much I needed speed.
Even Knucklehead knew how reckless my habits were. He always used to say, "Why the hell do you even have a brain, blue boy? You never use it." I never responded verbally, I just let the dust behind me do the talking. Only when his voice faded did I ever consider thinking, but the urge was immediatley suppressed by excitement or fear, mostly the former, though. I wasn't the one who had the pondering skills anyway, that was Tails.
Tails was always mechanically adept, even when he was just a kitsune. I commonly found him in his room studying some strange technical manuals. I suppose it paid off in the end, for he is still the best mechanic I know. He is the only one I can think of that can do a differential equation in his head with no calculator or even a pencil. He's an impressive kid, right?
Shadow always used to chatise me for my recklessness with life in general. I guess he was jealous that I could actually be reckless without a care. He was always one to follow the rules, but not just any rules, his rules. I always claimed to be the same way, just with more benevolent intentions. There are day that I wonder if Shades was really such a bad guy, he always saved a person if he or she were in trouble... I guess even the big bad ultimate lifeform had a soft spot.
I remember when I first met Dr. Eggman. He used to be a family friend at one point, then I guess greed and power got to him. He came to my two-year-old birthday party. He gave me one of my favorite stuffed animals, a black and white bear. Unfortunately, He took it right back when he murdered my parents. I have never forgiven him for that, and I will fight him until I die...
