Vegeta's Confession

One day Bulma became very sick. Trunks and Bra stayed by her side at all times. On the other hand, Vegeta was busy training. He never came to see Bulma because he was so consumed in his quest to get stronger than Goku. Trunks looked out the window and saw his father training. Trunks was very upset because his own father was not at his mother's side when he needed to be. He decided to go to and speak with his father. Bra agreed to stay with Bulma.

Trunks exited the back door of Capsule Corp and walked over to his father. "What do you want boy?" Vegeta sternly questioned.

"Dad, mom really needs you." Trunks explained.

"I can't go to her now my son." Vegeta told Trunks.

"Dad, she could be dying. If you don't go and see her now, you may not get a second chance." Trunks said.

Vegeta looked at his son deeply. Bulma could die and he wouldn't be there for her. He felt hurt inside because he was remembering all the times that he and Bulma fought with each other. They would always say things to each other that they never meant to say. Vegeta never apologized for fighting because he felt that he was always right. After Vegeta remembered all of these horrible times, he remembered the happy times. He remembered when Trunks was born and years later Bra. Bulma had given him so much and yet he gave nothing in return. He continued to think and he knew that he had to change. He needed to show Bulma that he had changed before it was too late. Vegeta looked at Trunks.

"Ok, Let's go see your mom." Vegeta told him. Trunks couldn't believe that he'd go and see his mother. As they walked to the door, Trunks thought that his father was sick. He actually wanted to go and see his mother.

"Dad!" Bra exclaimed. She was sitting next to her mother's side keeping vigil over her. Vegeta looked at Bulma and everything hit her at once. The reality of Bulma's condition was far too much for him to handle at one time. His heart began to ache.

"Kids, could I have a few moments alone with your mother?" Vegeta asked. Trunks and Bra left their father with their mother. They went downstairs to the family room and waited. "Do you think dad really loves mom?" Bra asked her brother.

"In his own way." Trunks replied.

Up in the room, vegeta was sitting on Bulma's bed. Vegeta gently touched her face. Bulma moved her head slightly, but she still didn't open her eyes.

"Bulma, please forgive me. I have been such a fool. How could I be such a lowlife and a big jerk? You gave the world to me and I paid you back with nothing but moments of hell." Vegeta told Bulma.

"No Vegeta." Bulma weakly stated, opening her eyes.

"Bulma." Vegeta called.

"You gave me love, even if you didn't show it. A child is the greatest thing love makes. How could we have had children, if there was no love between us?" Bulma explained.

Vegeta got all choked up. His Bulma spoke the truth. She reached out for his hand and found it. Vegeta and Bulma looked at each other one last time. Vegeta could feel death slowly consume his only love.

"Bulma, I…I." Vegeta began.

"You love me." Bulma finished as her eyes began to slowly close. Vegeta looked at Bulma before he gave his reply.

"Yes Bulma, I do love you and I always will." With that Bulma's hand slowly let go of Vegeta's and with a tiny smile, she died peacefully. A tear ran down his cheek. He finally confessed the hardest thing that he could ever tell someone, he loved Bulma and he always would.
