He was always by my side. I just never noticed it. The fight with Kimimaro, he stepped in and saved my life. He took my hand and led me through the darkness. And I thanked him by yelling at him when he said one bad thing about Gai-sensei. He never gave up through his life; his horrible life that no one would want.

We made it through the tough time. We did it. Nothing could stop us after that speed bump. He was there for me the whole time, too. And I was there for him, whenever he needed me. It sounds terribly ooc, but I actually loved him. No, I still love him; he'll just never love back. He said everything he could to me; the truth always came out.

I wish he were with me. Here on this mission. It's S-rank, and too dangerous for him. But still, I wish he were here. So I could hold him in my arms once more. I told him I might never return, and he begged me not to go. But it was the Hokage's orders. 'The Hidden Waterfall Village has gone too far now. They killed a feudal lord in the land of the Mist. They have requested our back up, seeing as though we have the strongest shinobi strength, along with Sunagakure.' She added that last part remember Gaara and my engagement.

I knew the chances of me returning slim. But it didn't matter. Gaara said that I could take on anything. So as long as I had Gaara's positive words on my side, I could fight and defend. I'll do it for Gaara-kun!

Gaara P.O.V

Those were his final words. They weren't spoken. They were written in his journal. Not a diary, Lee's manlier than that. Yes…much manlier. But…that never saved him from his destiny. I believed in him. I told him it would all work out. I remember the last things he said to me before he left; his bag of stuff tucked under one arm. In the bag were the essentials: clothes, food pills, and normal things. But there were other things, his journal and out wedding picture. Things that would help him get by at night.

He was on the mission for 3 days. It was supposed to last a week. But Lee's trip got cut short.

He was only 22. Why…Why did he have to die?
