A/N: I HIGHLY recommend listening to Sailor Moon's "Star Locket" melody while reading this. It gives the best effect. I don't tend to type in first POV but I felt it was more powerful this way. This is also an Inu/Kik (my OTP is sess/kag) because it just matches (well I think it does, lol) and it's sort of AU. This was also a prompt my adv. creative writing teacher gave me for an assignment, so I thought why not post it on I have time since I'm already typing, lol. The prompt is, "this moment..." I hope you enjoy! R&R.

Also, if any of you have read the book, "Writing Down the Bones" by Natalie Goldberg (AWESOME book btw) the prompt is originally from inside that book. I do recommend it!

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT own Inuyasha, all rights are reserved by the wonderful and amazing Takahashi Rumiko.

Moments

In this moment, I had a feeling we'd be together. We were two against the world. Nothing stopped us and we were free as the wind. The sun would shine overhead and we would bask in it like cats. When the moon rose, we'd howl with the wolves and prance like pups. When it rained we stayed inside until our mothers left, and as mischievous as water sprites, we ran in the rain and sang sweet songs. In the midst of a garden of spider lilies, we crossed our hearts and hoped to die, "Never betray the other." we promised.

In this moment, I was filled with a festering resentment towards you. I told you I hated you and you told me you hated me. With a misunderstanding, hurt feelings and wounded prides, we walked away. At the time, I was too angry to care what you did. By the time I came to say sorry, you were already gone with the wind. Howling with the moon stopped. Laying lethargically in the sun lost its appeal. The rain wasn't fun anymore and the magic left and colors dimmed. I saw you again and we became enemies, fighting for different teams.

In this moment, I knew things would fix themselves. Afterall, deep in my heart, I knew. I was standing and I could feel a warm wetness bloom across my chest. Your eyes were wide and you looked so surprised. Your face contorted into shock, horror, anger and finally sadness. Your mouth moved but I couldn't comprehend what you were saying. I then felt something drip onto my face and when I looked, it was you. I suddenly knew how this was going to end. In the midst of a garden of spider lilies, we made a promise. "I'll never forget."
