Hotch looked over at Emily in concern. He knew that she was in pain and trying not to show it. He wasn't talking about physical pain though. He was talking about emotional pain. He felt her pain as if it was his own and he knew why that was. He was in love with the woman and he felt that her being in this pain was his fault because if he would have told her how he felt then she wouldn't have been with the guy that had hurt her.
He took his wallet out and opened it up and looked at the lone picture that was in it. The picture was of Emily and Jack together. They were laughing in the picture and he could see the happiness in both of their eyes. He quickly put his wallet away when he heard someone walking towards him. Nobody knew he had that picture and for the time being he wanted to keep it that way. He looked up to find Emily coming towards him. He really wanted to hold her and take all her pain away.

Emily had seen Hotch looking at her and saw the concern in his eyes. She knew that he was blaming himself but she had no clue why. It wasn't like he put Rick in bed with another woman for her to walk in and find. It wasn't like he was the one who called her all the names. No, she didn't love Rick but it didn't mean that catching him in bed with another woman hadn't hurt any less.
"Hotch will you please quit blaming yourself for something you had no control over? I promise you I'm fine or at least that I will be fine. I may be a little broken but I'm fine. If anything I owe you a thanks because you are helping to put me back together again. When I'm with you I feel loved and cherished. That is something that Rick never made me feel." Emily said in a quiet voice.

Hotch's heart started thumping in his chest at her words and he swallowed before saying "That is because I do love you and cherish you Emily. And you're right I am blaming myself for you getting hurt because if I wouldn't have been a coward I could have saved you this heartache. I'll help you through this and once you are through this if you will let me I want to make you mine."
Emily smiled at Hotch's word choice. If only he knew how much I already loved him and want to be with him. Then she smiled because she could tell him now and not be worried about hurting Rick.
"Hotch, I love you too. I was only with Rick because I didn't think I could have you. Yes, it hurt seeing him in that bed but I wasn't in love with him. How could I be in love with him when my heart has always and will always belong to you?" Emily said before leaning into kiss Hotch.
Hotch pulled Emily closer to him as he devoured her lips with his own.
