This was previously on my old account, so if you've already this fic then this is a reedited version of it.
Molly was starting to drift off to sleep when she heard a knock on the door. Not knowing who it was, she sat up in bed and called out groggily.
"Come in." Hearing the door open, she watched Harry walk in with tears stained against his cheeks.
"I hope I'm not bothering you?" he asked a bit shakily as he stood against the doorframe.
"Harry? Is everything alright?" Molly asked as she pulled the covers up so they were covering her body.
"Can I come in?" he asked, a bit scared of what she would say.
"Of course," Molly said as she scooted closer to Arthur and patted the empty space next to her. "Tell me what's wrong."
Harry immediately walked over and took a seat next to her. Without any warning he leaned into her, rested his head against her bosom and started to cry. Molly, being a mother of seven, took him into a motherly embrace and hugged him tightly.
"Shh, it's alright Harry," she whispered as she rubbed small circles on his back.
Harry continued to cry for a few minutes but as his sobs started to die down, Molly asked,
"What's wrong, Harry, dear?"
Harry kept his face pushed into Molly's ample bosom and replied a bit muffled,
"I miss my mum."
Molly cupped Harry's chin a bit and moved his face from her bosom,
"What was that, love?" she asked in a motherly tone.
"I-I miss my mum," Harry stuttered as he tried to hold himself back from another fit of tears. He had only been an infant when his mum and dad died, and then he had been placed in the care of his ugly relatives, Petunia and Vernon.
Seeing Harry in tears put Molly into tears.
"Then why did you come to me dear?" she asked as she tried to steady her voice. Harry then looked into Molly's eyes and said,
"Because you're like a mum to me and I have no one else to go to." Molly had always accepted Harry as a son, and Harry had always thought of Molly as a mum.
Hearing this, Molly's heart sunk and all she could do was hug him tighter. That's when Harry finally put his arms around her and hugged her back. After a few minutes of sitting like this, it was almost as if they read each other's minds because they both separated and moved around on the bed; Molly moved so she was sitting against the headboard and Harry moved so he was standing beside the bed. Then without another word, Harry crawled up into Molly's lap as best he could and rested his head against her bosom, weeping quietly. The only thing Molly could manage to do without crying was plant a soft kiss on Harry's head.
It's beyond me how he made it this long without a mum. Hopefully I can be the best for this poor boy, she thought as she continued to sit there with Harry on her lap.
She didn't dare look at Harry for quite sometime after she kissed him, but when she finally did she realized he had fallen asleep. She sat there for a few minutes, thinking of Harry and everything that had happened in his life. Question after question came rushing to her head and she tried to answer each one of them herself, but she just couldn't quite answer them.
"Goodnight Harry," Molly whispered to the sleeping boy as she gave him another kiss on the head.
All the thinking had made Molly sleepy, so after Harry cuddled even closer to her bosom, she wrapped her arms around him and fell asleep.
