This song is called "My lover's gone" and belongs to Dido, I only borrowed it. So don't sue me. When I listened to this song for the first time I imagined one girl/elf looking to the ocean and singing it. Since we all know that Legolas left with only Gimli, I imagined that she was referring to him in the song. I'm sorry for my bad English, but I hope you can understand what I am trying to say.

Gimli asked seeing his friend suddenly looking behind in the direction of middle earth; they were in the middle of the ocean, heading for their last home, Gimli was finally going to see Lady Galadriel again and Legolas would be reunited with his kin, but something seemed to be troubling his friend.
"I thought that I heard her singing..."
"That is just your imagination, you know she is dead." Gimli felt sorry about saying it that way, but Legolas had to move on.
"Yes, I know, but we never found the body..." Legolas started to say.
"You still feel guilty for leaving and not waking her to say goodbye, don't you? How could you know they were going to attack? We were just going to stay away for a week."
A single, lonely tear fell across Legolas' face as he said "I know. But we never got the chance to say farewell and now she is gone. My lover's gone."
